Chapter 1; Part 1

It was the first day of school, you know the feeling, excitement, fear, embarrassment for something that hasn't even happened yet, you know this is the best you'll look for the rest of the school year because today, the fit, the makeup, it all matters.

I walk into my homeroom class, its the right room this year, I don't have to experience that again...

I begin to scan the room, it seems like my classmates have already gotten sorted, they've formed their little 'cliques'; there were the popular girlies, the jocks, the theatre kids, (you know, whatever you'd expect to be in a high-school-set eighties movie) and whatever new categories had formed over the summer.

I get seated in my usual spot, middle of the classroom, chair not front and centre but more just off to the side, a spot that screams: average high school girl, not a try hard, not anti-social, just trying to make it through the year if you know what I mean.

Fun start to a new school year...
