"I don't think you should be worrying about class right now!" By the time she said that he had already left. The monster roars again as it bangs on the stall door startling her. "Who am I kidding, I can't have skipping classes on my record on the first day." She holds her head in her hands face filled with dread as she turns back to the monster before reluctantly making a decision to teleport away, leaving behind blue flames.

「 Ashlynn's P.O.V 」

I quickly made it back to class, sitting in my seat as I try to catch my breath before Howard caught my attention. "Yo, Campbell. Where have you been? I haven't seen you since the Ninja showed up."

Trying to come up with an excuse, I nervously answered. "Oh uhh... I was hiding when that monster showed up."

Just then, Randy rushed in sliding across the floor then crashing into a pile of books. He winces in pain and makes it onto his seat before getting yelled at by Howard. "Where have you been? We were supposed to meet the Ninja together. Man, but between you and me, he was kinda stankin' it up back there along with the newbie hero that just showed up." He had a grin, waving a hand in front of his nose, finding the situation humorous.

Randy was about to retort when I piped in. "Come on Howard, I can tell that they were trying their best. I mean, it's not like they are instructions on how to be a hero."

Randy suddenly stood up from his seat, surprising Howard and I. "I need. To use. The bathroom!" After that he was gone again. "But didn't he just went?" I asked looking at Howard. "Hey, if a man's gotta go, he's gotta go." He leaned back in his chair.

I was struck with another thought. Wait, the instructions! Of course! How could I forget. The Yokai Nomicon will know how to defeat the monster.

I sprinted over to the girls bathroom and hide in one of the stalls. I took out the Nomicon that I managed to hide under my vest, flipped it open and felt my conscious slipping away.

Into the Nomicon, I feel myself falling from the sky and then landing on a hard surface. "Well, well, back so soon?" I lift my head up to see that it was the giant fox again. "I realized that I never really got your name."

"My apologies, I've never properly introduced myself when we first met. My name is Yukiko, the first Yokai." She nodded her head with a light bow.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Ashlynn. I was wondering if you know anything that could defeat a monster I got going on at the moment."

"Ah yes, your very first monster fight. As you know, being the Yokai, you are bestowed with unimaginable powers and skills. You are equipped with a weapon if you can recall."

Processing their words, I facepalm at my self. Oh my god I'm so dumb. Realizing I had a weapon on me this entire time.

"Got it, I think I know what to do now" I said embarrassed.

"Oh and one more thing, my presence won't always be here when teaching you. Just letting you know in advance."

I nodded as fire started to surround me, I wave goodbye to her and was brought back to the real world. After that, I heard screams outside, I quickly pulled out my mask and transformed into the Yokai.
