Start from the beginning

The monster charges towards him, delivering a series of punches with each arm, but the Ninja was able to block every one. "Ninja block, ninja block, ninja block, ninja block, and ninja block." He does a back flip kick at the tentacle arm and the monster ended up punching it's own face with it. Feeling dizzy, it drops to the ground.

"Who's getting p'wned now!" He points at the monster then held up a peace sign while everyone was cheering for him.

"Dude, that was amazing!" Yokai runs up to him with an excited smile, stars in her eyes.

"Hey, thanks. You know, you weren't so bad yourself." Hands on his hips, she smiles again at the praise given. "My Ninja Nomicon already told me everything about you, so if you HAVE to be here, I wouldn't mind having a sidekick." He puts a hand on her shoulder.

"Sidekick?? I kinda prefer the term partner." She says offended, grabs his hand and lifts it off, dusting the spot where he just touched.

"Nope! I've decided you're gonna be my sidekick now. Trust me. I've been around longer, so this is for the best. Just don't get mad when all the attention is on me." He wraps his arm over her shoulders, poking on her mask.

"Oh yeah? I already figured that you're new to all this too, so that doesn't give you the right to call me your sidekick." She whispers in his face making sure no one else would hear.

The monster broke out of it's daze and a hole tores open on it's chest, a bigger arm shoots out. Yokai notices it and quickly shoves the Ninja behind her. "Look out!" She pulls out her umbrella and opens it, a magical barrier appearing on top while the monster's open palm pushes against it. Her feet sliding across the grassy floor, leaving skid marks. It slams another arm over it, Yokai struggling to stay on her feet, focusing all her strength.

From behind her the Ninja panics as he tries to think of a solution. "I don't get it. I'm believing. What else could be in the suit." He pats around his body before pulling out a sword. "Oh, believe in the weapon that is IN the suit."

"You seriously thought you didn't have weapons this entire time?" Yokai comments, though she shouldn't be saying that, considering she herself forgot she had a weapon too. Ninja leaps out from behind her and slices off the giant arm, exposing robotic parts and substances. "That makes way more sense." The monster charges in again, he spun his sword around slicing through it, like butter to a knife.

The monster stops in it's tracks, one by one each arm falls to the ground before having it's head splitting open down in the middle, yellow liquid pouring out. Many people watch in disgust as one tries to hold back the bile in their throat.

It was finally over, everyone cheered the two heroes for their victory. "I guess I'll see you around then?" Yokai said.

"Totally. You did kinda saved my butt back there."

"And I would do it again. Wouldn't want the beloved Ninja to get his butt kicked first day on the job. Thanks for having my back too."

"Anytime. Sidekick." Even though he's wearing a mask, she could still tell he has a cheeky smirk behind it.

"Hey! I'm not a sidekick." She scoffs and playfully punches him on the arm, as they both laugh.

"See you later, Ninja." She holds up her fist indicating a fist bump. "See ya, Yokai." He reciprocates it. After that, she teleports away with a trail of blue flames. Followed by a smoke bomb from the Ninja.

Back in civilian form, I caught up to Randy and Howard outside. "Hey guys."

"Yo, what up, Campbell." Howard waves at me.

"Thanks for letting me hang out with you guys today."

"It was no biggie. Hey! We're about to head to the Gamehole, you should come with us." Howard offered.

"Wait, really? You want actually want me to stick around longer?" I ask in surprise.

"No, duh. Of course. You're part of our group now." Randy looks at Howard in surprise. That doesn't sound like something he would say.

"Well, I sorta assumed this would be a one time thing. That's what you said back in class didn't you?" I scratch the back of my neck nervously, not familiar with someone that actually WANTS to hangout with me.

"That was then. This is now. Come on! I wanna show you all the places, Cunningham and I always hangout at." He walks ahead, me and Randy followed right behind him.

"When did you and Howard get so close?" Randy whispers beside me. "I'm guessing probably when I promised I would make extra snacks for him during lunch."

"Of course. Should've seen that one coming." Randy runs up ahead to catch up to Howard. I stayed close behind, feeling a genuine smile curl up on my face as I look at the two best friends. 'Man, what a first day. I'm a hero now, I got to fight my first monster, met my new partner, and I earned myself two new friends!' I'll cherish every single second of the moments during my time in Norisville.
