"Tomioka-san!" Kanae called out from the door of the teacher's office. Giyuu perked up from his desk, pocky in his mouth, and a confused look on his face. Quickly, he ate his snack before standing up and walking towards the door. "Yes, Kocho-san?" he answered. Kanae pointed towards the end of the hallway. "A visitor has come looking for you; he's currently sitting in the principal's office," She said.
Giyuu thought for a moment. Visitor? Just who could be visiting him in the middle of work hours? The man nodded and thanked Kanae as he went in the direction of the principal's office, which was at the end of the hallway. Once he had arrived, Giyuu knocked on the door–" Ubuyashiki-san, it's me, Tomioka Giyuu." The voice from the other side answered, "Please come in, Tomioka-san." Giyuu opened the door, taking a step inside before suddenly stopping.
The office was fairly simple—green walls, plants at the corner, pictures of the school's achievements decorated the walls with Amane's desk sitting in front of the window, and two couches as well as a coffee table. No, what really made the office odd wasn't the interior, but the man sitting on one of the couches, whom he found strange. Muzan Kibutsuji, here in the flesh.
"Please, sit down, Tomioka."
"...Then please, excuse me." Giyuu took a seat across from Muzan, not taking his eyes off of him. He furrowed his brows, silently communicating with the other man. A face that read 'What are you doing here?' To which was only met with a raised brow and a subtle smirk. Giyuu rolled his eyes and looked at Amane, who, if she saw the interaction, didn't say a word about it.
Amane cleared her throat, "I assume you're curious as to why Kibutsuji-san is in my office. He has requested a meeting with you, you see. And seeing as you are one of our employees, I suggested having the meeting here instead."
In other words, 'I do not trust Kibutsuji in my building, nor do I trust him not to do anything to you.' Giyuu wasn't an idiot. He knew what kind of man Muzan was: corrupted, evil, and so fucking hot.
Who said that?
Muzan let out a huff. "Rest assured, Ubuyashiki. I am merely here on private business," He smiled. Facing Giyuu as he spoke, he didn't even bother to address Amane politely.
'Bullshit,' Giyuu wanted to call out. Any private business could have been easily sorted out at home, or better yet, over a text. Maybe it was an emergency? Oh dear, did Muzan try cooking again? No, that couldn't be. If he did, he would rather die than reveal his shame to Giyuu of being unable to cook a proper meal. Something Giyuu had relentlessly teased him about, much to the others' dismay.
Muzan reached into his bag and pulled out a stack of papers, handing them to Giyuu. "You forgot these at home, Yuu-chan." Giyuu was taken aback.
That's it? Muzan Kibutsuji, a man who prided himself on his work and rarely took a day off in life, took the time off his morning just to drop off paperwork Tomioka forgot at home. Giyuu was never going to live this down.
Amane watched the interaction in shock, not only because Muzan had personally handed Giyuu his paperwork, or the fact that Muzan called Giyuu by such a nickname, but there was that implication that these two spend more than enough time together for Tomioka to forget his papers at Muzan's residence.
Giyuu blinked. "Thank you, Muzan, but you could have just called me, or have Kokushibo deliver these to the school guardhouse." he picked up the papers and examined them. Graded reports that he was supposed to hand over later.
"I could have picked these up easily," he supposed he had Muzan to thank. After all, if he had not delivered these papers, Sanemi would have never let him hear the end of it.
Muzan merely smiled. "Nonsense," he replied. "It's the least I could do after the favor you did last night." Ah, he must be talking about the dinner Giyuu made last night. The dinner he made almost every night. Giyuu shrugged and waved his hand.
"Think nothing of it, after all, it's nothing special." That earned a laugh from Muzan. "Please, anyone who's tasted something from you would say otherwise."
Who the hell says that? Giyuu glanced at Amane—who was surprised and looked almost flushed—before looking back at Muzan, who stood up from his seat. "Well, that's all from me." The man adjusted his tie, straightening his coat before eyeing Amane.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Ubuyashiki. But I'd best be off now." He bowed. He didn't even bother hearing Amane out before exiting the room, of course, not before giving Giyuu a wink.
Giyuu sighed; he had almost forgotten how irritable Muzan can be. Maybe it's because he's known him for so long that he's grown fond of him. Then again, Giyuu doubts 'fond' is the right word for it.
Amane cleared her throat, grabbing Giyuu's attention. "Tomioka-san," she started, "Are you doing alright?" Giyuu was taken aback. "Oh yes, Ubuyashiki-san. Thank you for worrying about me," he bowed politely. Amane smiled, relief showing in her face.
"Tomioka, if anything is bothering you. Anyone at all, you are free to come to me," She said. Giyuu wanted to furrow his brows in confusion, but composed himself and nodded instead. "Of course, I will be sure to report to you if there's anything the matter."
Amane observed him, not in a judgmental way—but in the same way a mother duck would look over her children. "Very well, you may leave now, Tomioka. Thank you for your hard work," Giyuu bowed once more before he got up from his seat and exited the office.
Amane let out a deep sigh, resting her head on her hand, brows furrowed as her expression went from calm to frustrated. How had she not noticed? Could it be that Giyuu was a spy?
No, he wouldn't. As much as he preferred to keep to himself, Giyuu was an honest man. He would never do anything that would put his friends in danger. Assuming the other teachers were his friends, of course. But that didn't explain why he was so close to Muzan.
It wouldn't be unusual if Giyuu had heard of the man, yes. It was almost a well-known fact that Giyuu graduated from the same school as him. However, being friendly with him? Being nice to him? Calling him 'Yuu-chan'? That was out of the ordinary. Never in her 32 years of living would she think that she would even witness Muzan being so gentle.
The implications were there. Muzan shamelessly bragging about the night they had, Amane almost lost her composure. While Giyuu (bless his soul) just sat there, oblivious to the comments. Perhaps she should inform her husband about this. It would be the better option, or would that be intruding on Tomioka's private life? No, when it comes to Muzan, almost nothing is private. He did come here just to stake his claim over Giyuu after all.
Just then, the telephone on her desk rang, snapping her out of her thoughts. Right, she would focus on work first. Giyuu is a grown man, and Amane would observe the situation before making a move. For now, it was best to trust Giyuu.
