Running from my Shadow

Untitled Part 1

  I was at work, and I was exhausted, almost falling asleep at my desk, when my boss called me to his office. So, I gathered my notebook and pencil and knocked on his door. Come in, he said, and take a seat. I gently sat down opposite Mr. Stuart. Thank you, Sir, welcome. How are you doing today, Skyla? Doing well, thank you. Sorry for calling you so late. It is almost time for you to go home. Just then, my phone began ringing in my handbag leaving my boss's office and closing the door behind me, I took it out of my handbag Sorry about that, it's okay said Paul

The clock on the wall showed 5. PM, gathering my handbag and taking a sip of water, waved to the rest of the staff and said goodbye.

I walked down the stairs, hearing the click, click of my high heel shoes trying to make less noise opening the big glass door and making my way to the parking space, got into my VW, and there gave one last look back at the office building, then off home singing an oldies song to myself which I always loved.

I had to stop off at my friend's house to leave a message, Katy we were in school together as I can remember since grade 2 and she needed a job so since we had a vacancy in the office my boss asked me if I knew anyone I said yes I did stopped the car outside her house and looked to see if there was signs of anyone at home. Knocking on the door, a lady opened it. Asking me who I was and if I would like to come inside, I told her no, that I was in a hurry that I would like to speak with Katy. I was Katy's school friend I said to her. She called out to Katy, who came to the door. And we stood at the door and chatted for about 15 minutes. Minutes later, Katy asked me to come inside. I told her I had to meet my boyfriend, and I had to leave soon. She said it was fine, and I handed her an envelope. I asked her to meet me at the office tomorrow around 8 AM for a job. She got so excited and hugged me, saying thank you, and that she would be there on time. We wished each other bye, and I left.

Chapter 7.

After handing over the envelope given by my boss to my friend Katy and congratulating her on the job announcement, I told her that I would see her at the office at 9. PM. She was so happy and smiled. I told her that I had to leave. I had to met my boyfriend soon and turned to leave and waving and wishing her the very bes,t was on my way home when I saw someone on the oppisite side of the road in a white car waving to me and wondering who can it be, and waved back giving our hand signs pointing to the road stop sign as if to say, meet me there we did meet up at the road sign getting out of our cars realizing it was Shona, the girl from the beauty salon, and we spoke for about 10. minutes, and Shona handed me a card with her phone number and address. I gave her my phone number she wrote it down we promised to call each other as soon as possiable, and drove off each on our way, I going my way home the first thing I did as entering was to check my phone messages, it seemed there were 2 messages the first was my brother Robert who left a message saying he would be coming over tomorrow, after work to, the second message was from Paul saying he is home and is waiting for me, so calling him I did so immedately saying, I will be there soon, and explaing why am running a bit late. Leaving my handbag on the coffee table and running to take my shower and freshen up in a hurry while doing so my very best friend Shadow, Hello Skyla, take it easy everything will work out fine you already told Paul your running late, and he will understand" you sure are such a wonderful close twin to me Shadow, what would I do without you? Paul really loves you and his family, too. I'm always here for you if you ever need help or consolation. Don't be afraid to ask. You look beautiful, hope and wish you a nice evening, and everything will be fine. As I knocked on the door, Avril came to answer, shouting, "Paul, guess who is here, your miss beautiful," and I had a smile on my face. Thank you, Avril, not at all. You are beautiful, that is why my brother loves you. Ah! You too. The Bennette family was happy to see me, and each took it in turn to give me a very warm welcome. I could tell it came from their heart and soul, and I treated them with the same warmth and love. Hi!, Sweetheart you look very pretty and you to Paul so handsome, I got close to Paul and we got tangled in each others arms, he lifted my head to him putting his hand under my chin and kissed me on the lips, which sent a fire down my spine, we said bye to the family and were on our way for dinner.
