"Open your eyes!"

I lay still.All I saw was black.It made sense,since all I ever saw from when I hit the ground was black."Open your eyes!"I heard some cat say."Shush now,Applekit,she'll open her eyes in her own time.""But I don't want to wait!"I opened my eyes.I blinked."Hello."I squeaked.A pretty she-kit bounced in front of me."Hi!I'm Applekit,your sister. And I'm not your only sister!There's Windkit,your brother,and Poppykit and Creamkit."I looked up to see my mother."Hello."I mewed.She smiled and wrapped her tail around me,Applekit,Windkit,Poppykit and Creamkit. Applekit had chestnut, reddish fur and deep blue eyes,like our mother.Windkit had long,white fur and a very long tail.He had blue eyes like Applekit.Poppykit had brown and reddish fur and was the smallest.She had a short tail and short fur and greyish eyes.Creamkit was a light cream colour with golden eyes.She had a brown swirl of fur on her forehead and brown
ear-tips and a brown tail. I wondered what I looked like.I smelt smoke."Mama,smoke!"I choked. She stood up quickly and gathered us together.Windkit stood up and sprinted out of the den."Windkit!"Our mother shrieked."Dapplefur,take care of them."she meowed.She ran after Windkit.
