Chapter 1: The beggining

Today i bumped into a guy at the cafe, and yes i know, it was probably nothing but the way we clicked almost instantly? oh my god. i'll just recap what happened.

I had just woken up and wanted a smoothie, so i got my lazy ass out of bed to go make one, first mistake, as soon as i went to go put on my slippers i was greeted with my foot sliding into dog shit, just great, my puppy shit in my slipper while i was asleep. Already off to a great start of the day. So, i reluctantly put my slippers in the washing machine and head to the bathroom to wash my feet. Second mistake. As i was walking, my puppy, whose name is bailey by the way, decides to come running out of nowhere and causes me to trip over her, landing face first on my floor.
"BAILEY I SWEAR TO GOD!!" i yell in frustration, my anger getting the best of me, and when i sit up to see bailey pouting at me and giving me puppy dog eyes, i fold.
"Im sorry sweetheart, im just mad today." I say, a little guilty as i pet her head. But apparently bailey thinks a little head pats can fix everything in the world because she immediately gets back to her playful and energetic self.
I sigh, this is gonna be a long day isn't it.
So after a few minutes of watching bailey chase her tail and fall over a few times i stand up and head to the bathroom, successfully this time and i wash the dog shit off my foot.
Now you would think i can finally make my smoothie right? Wrong. Turns out i didn't have any ingredients in the first place. So, i get my sorry ass dressed and get a leash on bailey and head to my car to go to the local cafe. When i finally get there I leave bailey in the car because it's like 40 degrees outside and i'm only gonna be a few minutes. I get inside and am immediately welcomed by the smell of coffee and freshly baked pastries. I walk up to the cashier and start to order.
"Hi welcome to 5th street coffee house what can i get you today?" The cashier says in a cheery tone, which i thought it was way too early for anyone to be genuinely that happy.
"Can i just get a medium strawberry and banana smoothie please?" I say, a little exhausted from what's happened in the last hour.
"Can do!!! May i have a name for that order, and maybe a little smile?" The cashier says and i just look at him with a pissed off expression, clearly not in the mood.
"Hailey." I say, now even more pissed off from the cashiers comment.
"Right..." He pauses to put my name in the system, "I guess that's a no on the smile then huh grumpy pants?" as soon as the cashier says that i swear to you it took all of my effort not to punch this dude, so i just took a deep breath, and went to go sit down at a table as i waited for my smoothie, questioning if the smoothie was even worth it at this point. As i was contemplating my life choices a man comes up to me.
"Hey, you look like you could use some company, mind if i sit with you?" He says and i look up at him and i swear my jaw almost drops, he was about 6'1 and had the most handsome features, he looked about 25-30, so around my age.
"Uhh no go ahead, but i'm not gonna be here for long, just waiting for a drink then heading out." I say, regaining my composure. He smiles and sits down across from me.
"So what's your name? or should i just call you grumpy?"
I hold back a snort of laughter at his comment, it was different when he said it for some reason, it felt, right.
"Hailey, what about you?"
"My names Matt, good to put a name to that pretty face of yours." He says in a sly tone, and i swear my heart stopped for a few seconds.
"I...." i start to say something but it gets lost on my lips.
"Thank you." i manage to say, my face flushed with embarrassment and he just laughs.
"Awww don't be embarrassed, but seriously you are pretty, maybe i could get your number and we could get to know each other?" He says, a genuine smile on his face and i happily agree, but just then my name gets called for my drink, so i quickly give him my number and grab my drink and head out. When I get back in my car i take a few moments to process what just happened, then I drive off. Will this go anywhere or will it end up like the last time i tried dating?
