Hey, everyone. 👋🏽
Most of y'all know that my writing days in this fandom is long over. When I thought it would've been sooner years ago (2021), the end came when it did at its own pace. I told myself I was just gonna end PK and dip for a while and reappear in the comments of books to support writers and that's it. But to those who have stuck beside me through thick and thin deserve this. 🫶🏽
Those that knew about me prior to Wattpad, knew I started out on MJfiction.com. That's where many great writers had come from whom most are no longer active and I knew of before we all migrated to the Big Orange. I was 15 years old then when I began reading and writing MJ fiction and went by the name "Zendaya" on there. Yes, I was a big fan of Zendaya Coleman back then, though I never watched Shake It Up lol. I just thought she was gorgeous and cool. Hence, why my past users on here were still connected to her: Zenny, ZennyP, and now XZENNE.
Plus, if you were to lurk that site, you'll see my old work on there, two of which are drafted on this account and one published. The other two will never get published, so don't ask. I'm deleting them forever. 😬
But that site was the beginning to this end.
It's 2025, and I am now 28, so I've dedicated 13 years of writing about a man I grew to love, learn, admire, fantasize, and defend by any means necessary. I was able to connect with other Black and POC writers and readers who felt the same, and I am grateful for finding "my people."
Sadly, a piece of that connection has dispersed the past few years. Age playing a part. A passion I once had is no longer there like it once was. Being part of a fandom—that died and went straight to the pits of fiery hell. All of that compiled into one huge emotion and really solidified my end as a writer in this community that became a not so healthy one for people: toxicity, bullying, division, and silly competition.
I just wanted to write, but I always knew I wouldn't be doing this forever—writing about Michael Jackson. The experience was great prior to me coming to Wattpad, no lie. After that, I had a little more bad than good being on this app when I began to write for real in late 2019/early 2020. So when you put up with a lot of bullshit back to back, do you really wanna continue doing this? Hell no. I stuck it out and still endured bullshit to an extent just for my supporters.
But we all gotta face some type of obstacle in our life and overcome it. I wouldn't have thought it would be on a reading app, though, but hey. There I was. But you live and learn from bad experiences and it makes you stronger rather than what was intended for you to be over nonsensical things.
And when you face that during a time of losing a parent and couldn't grieve for a full year because you were a full-time college student (night school, btw), traveling miles away from home for work, AND writing full-time, you're a bad ass motherfucker. I came out on top of all that in the end. I had to readjust my crown. 👑 Because whet? Then I'm dropping oneshots back to back for y'all like I was making it rain at Magic City too. 😭 Y'all was eating good.
The short stories came along after, and finally, my first real novel: Preacher's Kid in spring of 2022. We ain't gonna get into it because y'all already know what it was supposed to be back then, but it became my best work and a fan favorite. Then I dropped THE BLEU BROTHERS four months later. Those were gonna be the last two projects before my departure. Now we're down to just one and it's completed.
My farewell book as an MJ writer.
I will say, despite everything, I have written many concepts about Michael from crime, thriller/horror, murder/mystery, street racing, voyeurism/swingers, tattoo artist from the cliche concepts a lot of people always gravitated to because people live for the drama. Yes, I dabbled in it, but it wasn't my go-to because I never needed to write those constantly. It gets played out and the only thing someone can offer. And always painting Michael as this extremely horrible person gets redundant. That's why I only gave y'all 4-6 stories like that out of 30+.
