Hi, guys. I'm back, and I wanted to write this book for two reasons. First—it's a part of a commissioned work. Second—my advanced psychology course requires me to understand human emotions, variations in depth, and perception / rationale in various situations. All these things may sound mundane. Hell, this book will probably be mundane. I could possibly fail at it miserably too—but I'd like to try. I want to explore human emotions myself and I couldn't find a better opportunity to do it. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Hope you all are happy, healthy and hydrated. Lots of love to all of you.

"Dr. Hanako, the chemotherapy in private ward 12 has just finished. I'll wait there for your evaluation," a nurse said as Hanako checked a patient's chart in the ER.
"Give him a standard dosage of diclofenac and monitor his condition until the swelling goes down. He should be fine and ready for discharge in two hours. Call me if he doesn't improve." She closed the chart and handed it to the nurse next to her before attending to her patient.
"How long will you keep me here for? It's so dull and boring in this hospital." The old lady pouted.
"I'm sorry, Nanami san. After a quick analysis you can go right home, I promise." She smiled at her.
"I'm so worried, you know." Nanami Misao sighed, "I know I have another six months, but..."
"You haven't told your family yet?" Hanako asked as she examined Misao.
"It's just me and my son, I don't know what to tell him. Oh, that poor boy has his hands full with work all the time." She sobbed, "I... I really don't know how to tell him."
"Does he know you're here?" Hanako softly asked, "do you want me to talk to him?"
"I... don't know, do you think that'll work?" Misao asked, "you've been with me from the start. You got the diagnosis right when three others sent me back saying it's all in my head. I wouldn't want anyone else to tell him if I can't. Could you please speak to my son?"
"I can do that. Do you want me to call him?"
"I can call him to the hospital," Misao looked hopeful, "say, you're a lovely girl. I didn't think someone as young as you could diagnose my condition. Now that I know I was completely wrong..." she smiled, "I'd be happy if someone as nice as you spoke to him. I've been in your care for three years now. You told me I didn't have much time to live but you kept me alive for this long. I'll call him right away so I don't take any more of your time."
Hanako smiled as she took Misao's phone away before she could dial her son's number, "you don't like hospitals, Misao saaaan. Why don't you go home? I'm done checking you." She crouched before Misao's wheelchair and held her hands, "I live two floors above you, how about you tell me when your son is back from work? I can come have a chat." She smiled as Misao gasped in awe, "you'd do that for me?"
"Of course, I would. Only if you promise to eat well and get a lot of rest."
"Ah, how lucky am I that our apartments are in the same building?!" Misao had tears rolling down her eyes. Hanako was the light of her eyes, she'd grown so fond of her.
"You're in great luck." Hanako winked at her, "You know what to do if you feel weak. I'm only one call away."
"How about I make some banoffee tart for you? I know they're your favorite!" Misao was already planning on cooking up a storm.
"Ah, I literally just told you to get lots of rest. Look at you going back to cook already." Hanako teased, "I don't think it's an occasion to eat tart, you'll have to be there to console your son."
"Nonsense, he'll be just fine without me." Misao shook her head, "he's a very busy man, after all. I'm worried about you, you don't get out of your house much unless it's for work." Misao had heard about her parents' passing not long ago.
"I'll be fine," Hanako was pushing Misao's wheelchair out of the hospital, "I want you to live for as long as you can. Don't you want to see your grandchildren?"
"OH, YES I DO!" Misao clasped her hands as she looked up to see Hanako pushing her wheelchair. "I JUST WANT TO SEE HIM GET MARRIED BEFORE I DIE."
"Well, guess you have something that you want to live for, then." Hanako said as the driver helped Misao into her car. She always made it a point to see Misao off herself since the older lady was always so kind to her. She knew how chemotherapy worked and wanted Misao to stay mentally strong enough to fight her cancer and live a healthy life just for a bit longer, before everything went to shit. "Hold on until then." She waved at Misao, who just froze for a second before rolling the windows down and asking her driver to stop.
"HANAKO CHAN!" She looked at her so hopefully, "WILL YOU MARRY MY SON?"
