Aira Bhatia was a simple girl with soft and kind heart but with big dreams. She lived in a small, quiet village named Dholpur which is at rajesthan with her parents and her brother, Aarav Bhatia, where everyone knew everyone else. Though Aira's world was small, her dreams were anything but. She loved to dance more than anything. When she danced, it felt like the world disappeared, and all that mattered was the rhythm in her heart and the movement of her body.
But there was something Aira didn't love—her life in the village. Her family was kind, sweet, and very simple, but their world was different from hers. Her father often talked about finding her a good husband, someone from a respectable family, someone who could take care of her. It was a thought that made her uncomfortable. Aira wasn't ready for marriage. She didn't want to settle down and live the life everyone expected. Her dream was bigger than that. Aira wanted to go to Delhi to join one of the most reputed universities, Aether University of Dance (AUD). It was a city full of opportunities, where she could pursue her passion for dancing. AUD had a unique policy where every year, five students from different villages were selected for scholarships, giving them a chance to nourish their careers in dance. Aira had received one of those scholarships—a chance that seemed like a dream come true. She had always wanted to be a dancer on a big stage, where people from all over would watch her perform. But her dream felt far away, as if it was something only other people could achieve.
One evening, as she sat in her living room, the conversation that would change everything began."Aira," her father said, sitting down beside her, "I've found a good boy for you. He comes from a good family, and he's interested in you. It's time to think about your future. "Aira's heart sank. This was not what she wanted to hear. She had hoped her father would understand her dreams. She had hoped he would support her, not ask her to give them up for someone else.
"I want to go to Delhi, Father," Aira said quietly, her voice shaking. "I've been given a scholarship to study dance at Aether University. It's my dream, and I want to continue my studies there.
" Her father's face hardened. "What will you do by learning? I've already found a boy for you, and everything is fixed. This is what you need to focus on now."
Aira froze. Her heart thudded loudly in her chest. A part of her wanted to scream, to make him see how much this meant to her. But another part of her wanted to make him happy. The thought of leaving her family, the village, and the life she knew was terrifying. She felt trapped, torn between the future she had always dreamed of and the responsibilities that had always been expected of her.
What would happen if she stayed? She would live the life everyone had planned for her—marriage, children, and a quiet, predictable existence. But she would never know what could have been. And if she left? She would be chasing a dream that felt so far away, so uncertain. She could fail. She could be alone in a big city, away from her family.
"I don't want to let go of this chance, Father," Aira whispered, her voice breaking. "This scholarship... it could change my life."
Her father sighed heavily. "You are being foolish, Aira. I've arranged everything. You'll marry, settle down, and you'll forget about all these... dreams.
" Aira's heart ached. She felt the pull of both sides—her father's wish for her to live a traditional life, and her own burning desire to follow her passion. The battle inside her was fierce, the weight of the decision unbearable.
