Recovery

Patty's day was so terrible now. She didn't know why she deserved any of this. She didn't know why she was visited by her girlfriend's son. And she didn't know why the paranormal and the stupid decided to mix in the town she worked and lived in. Either way, it was extremely stressful and she really hated it.

It didn't help that the town seemed to be worse politically. The Mayor was promoting more anti-gun laws, which pissed Patty off since she believed in the Second Amendment very much, and a lot of anti gay bills were getting pushed. And she hated it by far because she was a lesbian. For some reason 2013 was a year of trash and wasted time. And Patty hated it.

But, it was better to ignore that stuff from now on. Patty already had a girlfriend and many people supported them last time she checked, plus the gun bans were being rivaled by various individuals. Besides, does it all really matter now?

All she knew was that today was terrible, she needed to wash her mouth after that demon possessed her, and go to Lila's house. She would take a break from all of this, and she wouldn't let anything stand in her way.

So she quickly went down to the hospital parking lot and went into her car. Patty then started it and began to drive off. She was originally considering walking but walking… just didn't feel as fast. So she used her car instead and began to drive off into the house.

Lila's house wasn't far from the hospital. Only took her like ten minutes at the most? So she quickly drove and then sped her way into Lila's neighborhood… Patty's neighborhood. She didn't know why, but Lila's home was more of a home than Patty's house would ever be. And Patty couldn't help but appreciate that.

She continued to drive, but once she was near Lila’s house, she couldn't help but stop. She parked the car near the curb and stopped as she watched the scene unfold. She slowly blinked and took a minute to analyze the situation unfolding in front of her. Not knowing what to do.

She saw Lila and two of her friends randomly getting out of the car. Lila looked all stressed and drunk, her hair was messy and she drool going down her chin. She randomly rambled for a bit at the person on the other side of the house who turned out to be that priest. The same one who broke into the morgue with Skid and Pump hours earlier. He looked injured on his leg, and he began limping while he walked. It looked like a large dog but through his skin.

“What is going on here?” Patty muttered to herself as she looked into the car. She gently walked out of her car and then closed it. The argument could be heard a bit better now. So she stayed out and watched from a distance, deep in thought as she looked at the argument.

Things went a bit worse, Lila's son Skid ran out of the house crying and got picked up by a surprised Lila. Lila continued to yell at the priest for a bit until the priest said something that devastated Patty to the core.

The priest calmly but firmly explained that Lila was irresponsible. He chastised her for drinking and leaving Skid to possibly get hurt. Lila didn't really say anything, she just made mindless sounds while she held Skid. After a while, the priest just walked away,  but not before calling Lila an irresponsible mother.

Patty stopped and began thinking about this. What was going on here? Why did the priest just talk smack about Lila like that? She didn't know, but she knew she had to do something.

She took a deep breath and exhaled before slowly walking towards the house. She parked her car around two houses away from Lila’s so she didn't really need to worry about anything happening to it for now. Plus the priest was limping towards her direction. And she knew she had to do one more thing before she went home.

It wasn't too long until they encountered each other. The priest widened his eyes as he saw Patty standing a few feet away, but then he composed himself and just stood up. Patty only shrugged before she looked at the priest with an indifferent expression.
