Chapter 11: Identity Crisis and the Fibonacci Prophecy

Start from the beginning

I heard the desperate shouts of the police amidst the chaos, urging me to retreat from danger. Ignoring the warnings, I advanced boldly, a supernatural figure confronting the unknown. A shot cracked through the air, and suddenly the unimaginable happened. A bullet, which should have ricocheted harmlessly, pierced my shoulder, shattering the illusion of invulnerability.

Perplexity overwhelmed me as my vision blurred and the crimson fluid spread from the wound. An unprecedented sensation of pain contradicted every expectation and rule I had believed about my nature.

Reality began to distort, and I, the self-confident hero, found myself crumbling before the unexpected. A police officer, the one I had previously helped, appeared, dragging me to a safe place. Consciousness slipped away amid the speed of events as he remarked ironically:

— Playing the hero again.

In my unconscious state, something revelatory occurred: I began to relive forgotten and pivotal moments of my existence in the Nexus universe, where I conversed with my fellow Raiyokans during a training break.

The discussion revolved around a prophecy that had spanned generations in our lineage, known as Fibonacci. It was a sequence repeating in nature, a mathematical pattern transcending the bounds of the universe, fascinating even the most brilliant minds. According to the prophecy, upon contemplating this symbol for the first time, a legendary Raiyokan warrior would achieve unparalleled power, capable of facing any threat and restoring balance to nature.

The conversation was between me and my two friends. Eliseu, the strongest and most experienced warrior, and Leo, who had abilities comparable to mine, often competed to determine who was the strongest. The dialogue began when Eliseu raised questions about a revelation made by our spiritual guide in our universe.

— Kenzo, it seems a threat is about to emerge on our planet. — Eliseu commented, then continued, now with a skeptical and mocking tone — This revelation was made by your spiritual guide, Mei Ribeiro.

— I believe her, Eliseu. And you should too. — I replied, reprimanding his atitude

— Of our clan, you are the most skeptical; you shouldn't rely solely on your strength. — I continued, disapproving him.

— I agree. — Leo joined the conversation. — But if a threat arises, it will be Eliseu's strength that saves us, not our faith.

— Wrong, if the enemy is stronger than all of us, only the Fibonacci prophecy can save us.

— Have you ever heard of warriors more powerful than the Raiyokans? That hasn't existed in over a thousand years. — Eliseu responded confidently.

— And your spiritual guide? Who in this world has the surname Ribeiro? Where did that name come from?

— I don't know, and you should show more respect to Mei.

— I do respect her, but with all this chaos in the world, all this disparity, we have more serious problems to worry about.

— Eliseu is right, Kenzo. Maybe Mei was wrong this time. We don't need to look for any hidden symbol now. There's no apparent threat.

Before returning to training, Eliseu concluded:

— The only certainty I have is that you will never stop believing in the supernatural, Kenzo. Not here, not in any other life you will have.

As my vision progressed, more specific details began to emerge. When the Thunder clan reached our planet, the Raiyokans were decimated one by one, with no chance of resistance. Faced with this scenario, we embarked on a journey to other planets in the Nexus universe, hoping to find the prophetic symbol. However, the Thunders relentlessly pursued us, exterminating us. I became the last surviving Raiyokan, destined to find the symbol and awaken superhuman powers, as the prophecy foretold.
