She opened my door for me, the inside was filled with multiple shades of white and blue with plenty of yellow accents. It was covered in polka dots and overlapping shapes. The room was tall, a literal dog bed in the corner with other dog themed items on shelves indented into the walls and on a desk opposite of the bed.

Not once in my life have I ever felt so disrespected.

Ragatha could probably see the genuine distaste on my face and tried to break the tension, "Y-You can ask Caine to change some things, y'know! He loves helping us, so I think he'll be more than happy too!" She tried to wait out my blatant silence but she ended up just ignoring the rest of the room and stepping back to the doorway, a defeated sigh before she spoke "I'll stand out here until you're ready."

She didn't even crack the door before my voice jumped from my throat.

"Ragatha, right?" Her head turns to me, patient, "I'm... Just... Just get comfortable and explain this to me. I don't..." A defeated sigh leaves my throat as I reluctantly step closer to the mirror that was partially covered in a tarp.

It came off without much of a shrug and fell to the floor, kicking up fake dust that didn't settle, only fading into obscurity.

The mirror was wide and as tall as Ragatha was, showing me the full view of my room and me, standing awkwardly in the middle of it. Staring. Staring at what the hell I was.

A dog, obviously. I saw the bone in my mouth a lot better now, defining it more like a piercing than it was a prop. My nose was bright teal, matching the one eyebrow I had. Two pointed ears folded over my head, one of them yellow. More yellow was around my right eye, painting me like one of those dogs you always saw on tv with the one spot around its eye. And like I had expected, the collar around my neck matched those around my wrists. Thankfully it didn't come with a d-ring, I probably would've cut my neck out to remove it.

I stepped back to get a better look at my body next, taking in the unnatural thickness of my hips and thighs that narrowed to two dog-like paws. While I didn't understand what was happening, I had to admit when I looked good. And if this was supposed to be my body, then I might as well admire the things about myself I never thought I'd achieve.

Pear shaped is how you describe it.

With a twirl, I looked at the short, sharp, yellow tail that poked out through my blue and white jumpsuit. Noticing it made it wag, my realization making my tail wag harder. The thought of living my dog's life had come to me a few times but never once did I ever think it was ever going to happen. My body now was so different to what I remember I felt like.

Not to mention the fact that I wasn't ever this curvy. My torso is relatively small compared to everything else about my body, the tank top cut low, but it wasn't like I had boobs or anything. I had already shamelessly felt myself up, trying to feel anything under these clothes.

There was nothing.

Finally, after accepting my fate, I let out a pathetic sigh and turned to the dog bed where Ragatha was already sitting and smiling. I crawled in next to her, almost immediately melting. It was... Way too plush for its own good. It was soft and made of quality unlike anything I had while alive.

"I'll keep it short, I can see you're tired," She pulls back the blanket on the bed and gently tosses it over me, "But... This world is, as I'm sure you can already tell, digital. We exist here, as these uh, characters. We don't get to remember our names but, I wouldn't say it's that bad! We still can remember other things about our lives!" Her cheery attitude felt forced now, like she was trying very hard to ease my worries.

"It's... It's going to take a lot of getting used to," Her tone drops when she realizes the excitement has worn off, "We don't actually need to sleep or eat, heck, don't even need to breathe. It's all... self-sustained? I think that's the right term for it. Take it slow, Harper. And just, don't think about things too deeply, okay? Take the information in a little bit at a time, alright?"
