This feeling of rage that you can’t get out of your bones
That’s level of shock that you can’t tell a soul
You felt guilty about it
But it wasn’t your fault
You were a child that needed protection
They left marks on your body that you feel today
You can still smell them off your clothes
You can still hear their voice
You feel like your body and soul is tainted
I know you can still feel them in the room even though they’re not there
That was long ago but why does it feel like it happened today
Why does it feel like you’re drowning with chains on
Why does it feel heavy on your heart
Heavy in your mind
It’s a weight you feel on your shoulders everyday
