It was sunny out, far too bright for my liking and somehow I found myself sitting in a sleek black car that belongs to Nick fury I was being driven to the avengers tower. God, that was funny how things were working out. I was an ex Hydra agent for years against my will, of course because who would want to murder people when you're a child. I'd faced the avengers several times and they all knew who I was and they'd all read my files so they knew enough about how I got into hydra and all the haunting things that happened to make them not want to kill me.

The tower was shiny and tall covered in windows and so goddamn modern, I hate modern. It's all clean and neat and doesn't have that slightly messy and lived in feel that a real home has. A home. God what even was a home to me at this point, the one I had as a child that I only lived in for the first eight years of my life still felt like home even though the charred remains was all that's left that was my home.

There was a young boy standing outside the tower with brown messy curls and light freckles dusting his cheeks and nose looking way too giddy for my liking. One of Fury's drivers opens my door for me and Fury says "welcome home" that funny word again. Home. This wasn't my home maybe one day it could be but it wasn't today and probably not tomorrow or for the next months maybe even years.
