Shantivan was alive with the sound of celebration once again. Diwali lights danced across the walls, laughter echoed in the corridors, and the scent of sweets filled the air.

But none of it reached Arnav Singh Raizada.

He stood silently near the staircase, watching from afar as Khushi twirled, smiling in NK's arms, their laughter free, unburdened. Their chemistry was no longer just playful—it was intimate now. Familiar.

Khushi had changed, but not in the way he had expected. She had grown stronger, steadier. And she had stopped waiting for him.

He couldn't even blame her.

Every time she had reached out, he had withdrawn. Every tear she had cried, he had watched in silence. And now... she had stopped crying altogether.

What scared him most was how no one else noticed his silence. Or maybe they had stopped caring, just like her.

Later that night, he sat by the poolside—the same spot where Khushi once brought him jalebis and silly stories. Now, it was just him and the night.

Khushi came out, holding a tray of sweets.

He looked up, hopeful.

"I made these," she said. "For the family. NK loves them."

He nodded slowly. "He makes you smile."

She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes. "Yes. He... listens. He doesn't push me away."

Arnav swallowed the lump in his throat. "And I do?"

"You did." Her voice was soft but certain. "You made me feel invisible, Arnav. I loved you. I waited. But somewhere, I lost myself in the waiting."

A beat of silence.

"You chose silence," she said finally. "So I chose peace."

And with that, she left—without guilt, without apology.

Two Weeks Later

A sleek black car drove away from Shantivan. No one came to the gate to say goodbye.

Arnav had left behind only a letter.

"Sometimes love isn't enough.
Sometimes silence speaks louder than words.
I wish you happiness, Khushi.
Goodbye."

He boarded the flight to London, not as the ASR everyone feared—but as a man who had finally accepted the weight of his choices.

As the plane took off, he didn't look back.

Not at Delhi.
Not at Shantivan.
Not at her.

For the first time, he didn't feel empty.

Just free.
