Decades ago, before Morgana's imprisonment, the Eldritch Queen created an amulet to combat Merlins champion. For years it remained dormant. Until something awoke it...

4 year old Alexandra Mainwaring never knew what woke her that night. Maybe it was the bright moonlight shining through the curtains of her room, or the knocking of the door against the wall. Maybe it was the sense that everything was going to change that night. The room was dark and still, the light making strange shadows against the walls. A tink sounded from the window, as if something had been thrown at it. The little girl slipped out from under the covers and crossed over the shifting patterns on the floor. She opened the windows and looked out into the night. A gust of cold air blew into the room, making the curtains billow and whirl. A flash of black and blue flew from the ground below and clanked into the wall behind her. Alex crept over to were it had fallen and cautiously picked up the object. It was a disk shaped object, like an amulet, and it was a blue and purple stone surrounded by a rim of some black metal.

There were words written on the stone. "For the freedom of, Mor-gah-na" The girl sounded out "Moonlight is mine to command". Suddenly, white lights came out of the amulet and went towards her. Alex squeaked and tried to get away, but the light went into her and armour appeared around her, way too big for her at first but then it shrunk. A bow appeared in her hands and she held it, amazed (Mwah, ha ha. I'm giving a 4 year old a dangerous weapon). A banging sounded on the front door and she jumped. She could hear her dads footsteps go down the steps and the door open.

"Hello? Wha-" Alex heard a scream. Her dads scream. it was cut off suddenly she held the bow closer, trying not to listen to the crunching sounds. "Candor?" Alex's mum walked down and the girl covered her ears as the sounds of pain echoed up the stairs. There was silence before heavy footsteps started thumping up the stairs. The girl trembled before reaching under her bed for the emergency pack she had made after watching the trailer of 'Last kids on earth' in case of a zombie apocalypse.

She shoved the bow into the bag and jumped out of the open window. Or tried to. A giant hand closed on her bag and she squirmed in its grip. "Don't struggle human." A harsh voice grated "I will not hurt you. Alex managed to move her head around to glare at her captive. It was a massive black creature that looked like it was made of stone. 2 swords with what looked like bone handles were crossed on his back. "Like you didn't hurt my parents" she hissed, wishing that her voice didn't sound so weak. The monster growled, "They weren't important. You however are". He pulled her back into the room and slung her over his shoulder like a sack of flour. "I'm not important" Alex said "I'm a nobody." The creature snorted. "You are somebody, at least to Morgana. You are the Huntress."

Alex was silent. She didn't know what that was but it did sound familiar. The black thing stopped to grab the blanket and pillow and slung them over his shoulder with her. "What are you?" Alex asked. "I am Bular. And I am a troll." "You don't look like a troll." "How would you know." "I watched Trolls at school once. You're not tiny and you don't what have magic hair. And I bet you don't sing pop songs all the time either." Bular looked disgusted. "I do not have magic hair, I am not small and I don't sing." Alex looked pious. "You're not a troll then." "Your idea of trolls is very strange. Real trolls are very different."

The girl looked confused, but Bular didn't care. He trudged towards the forest and Alex noticed were he was bringing her. "You can't go there! There are wild things there that eat people!". The troll gave her a withering glare. "I am a wild thing that eats people".

Bular walked deep into the forest before reaching a large sewage pipe. Alex didn't even complain as he walked through the network of pipes, though he found out that she had fallen asleep. He reached an opening close to the flight agency and cautiously made his way over, keeping an eye out for humans. The troll got through the door with some difficulty turning on his side to go through. A green changeling was waiting for him.

"You're late." Bular grunted and dumped the girl on one of the seats. Strickler looked skeptically at her. "This is her?" "Yes." The black troll growled at him then made his way to the entrance to the Janus Orders hideout. "So young, yet so important." The changeling wrapped the blanket around the child and picked her up. The other troll turned to Strickler and said "Its almost insulting that The Eldritch Queen has given a child to be her champion. The green changeling started walking to the Orders entrance. "It will give us more time to train her." Bular snorted and turned away from Strickler as the lift started going down. The changeling looked down at the child's sleeping face. "She will be a mighty Champion.

I made art of Alex as a kid but its not very good so i'm not gonna add it. Also sorry if you didn't like me killing off the parents but it was either that or she was from an orphanage and i don't think Arcadia has an orphanage so.... Yeah.
