"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it."
— Rumi (Poet)

Love, in their lives, did not arrive with fireworks.

Nor was it something they sought.

For Jovendra Vanalika Sangngern and Ghandy Shankara Caskey, love was a process of slowly opening up, of pain, of doubt because within it lay wounds yet to heal.
A lingering karma.
A restrained desire.
And a feeling... too fragile to be named.

This is where the story begins.
In silence. In distance. In lives too ordinary to guess that everything was about to change.

And Between Them...

No dramatic meetings.
No clichéd lines.

Just two strangers, sitting in their own silences, while time quietly began to piece together a path not to complete each other,
but to become mirrors of one another.

(ON THE TITLE OF THE STORY)

Karma = Karma

In Sanskrit, karma (कर्म) means "action," "deed," or "work."
It refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect what you do, returns to you. Karma is not punishment or reward; it is energy, cyclical and just.

"What you send out into the world comes back sometimes quietly, sometimes like a storm. Karma is not fate. It is the echo of your choices."

Kāma = a Desire

Kāma (काम) is the Sanskrit word for "desire," "longing," or "pleasure."
It is one of the four puruṣārthas (goals of human life), encompassing love, aesthetic enjoyment, and sensual fulfillment not just lust, but the passion that drives art, connection, and life.

"Kāma is the fire that warms the soul desire not meant to consume, but to awaken. In longing, we remember we are alive."

Rasa = a Feeling

Rasa (रस) translates to "essence," "flavor," or "sentiment."
In Sanskrit aesthetics, rasa is the emotional taste a reader or viewer experiences in art, drama, or music joy, sorrow, wonder, peace. It is what makes something feel.

"Rasa is the emotion that lingers after the words have faded the silent color of a memory, the echo of a heartbeat within a verse."

In the dance of life, karma is the step, kāma is the rhythm, and rasa is the feeling that stays long after the music ends. We act, we desire, we feel and in that sacred cycle, we become.

Hi there,
This is my very first piece of writing a small escape from a mind that's been a little too full lately. I'm still trying to survive and stay sane, and writing has become my way of breathing through it all.

If you took the time to read this, thank you so much. I know it's far from perfect, but if even a part of it reaches you or helps you in some way, I'm truly grateful.

For me, JG feels like a "light" one that gently reminds me to enjoy life, even in the smallest moments.

From a far, I'm sending you a quiet prayer: may happiness always find its way to you.

Luph luph luph... 💫
