Chapter 22: Who's that...?

Start from the beginning

"Why?"

"Because I think we lost the others...." He whimpered. "Not good...not good at all!"

"Wha..." Snapping his head left and right Bakugo vigorously searched around to see that the two of them did managed to get separated from the group somehow. "OH COME ON!"

"Whenever we find them...." Uraraka irritatedly grunted as she continued hiking up along a small hill. "I swear he'll never hear the end of it."

"You know if I didn't know any better I'd say you're beginning to sound a lot like-" Biting his tongue the minute he came across Uraraka's angry face made the red head nervously gulp. "Nobody. I mean nobody. Definitely nobody."

"Urgh! Kirishima you're his best friend; shouldn't you know how to track him?"

"Erm yeah I don't think it works that way..." he amusingly grinned. Despite whatever may be going on between the two it was still pretty humorous for him to see how much alike those two really are. "But don't worry I'm sure we'll eventually find everyone."

"I hope so." She really did. There was no telling what this place had to offer since all the previous places ranged from alright to flat out terrifying.

"Hey um Uraraka...did something happen back there?" Kirishima awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck when he saw her momentarily pause. "Between you two I mean before we showed up at the bridge." he clarified observing the way the pink in her cheeks somewhat deepened. "Uraraka?"

"No." she answered, frustratedly turning around. "I mean I don't know Kirishima, I thought that..." Dismissively shaking her head she briskly began walking again. "I just don't understand him."

Smiling Kirishima was just about to comment on it until "Wait isn't that...?" His eyes zeroed in on the familiar hairpiece snuggly sitting on her hair now. 'So I guess Bakubro finally found the courage to confess after all. That's my boy!' he couldn't help but feel proud at the fact that perhaps his buddy finally decided to tell her his true feelings since that would be the manliest thing to do.

"Oh this?" Shyly touching the pink cherry blossom pin, she took it out and held it in her hand. Kirishima didn't miss the soft blush now coating her cheeks at the memory. "I-it was a gift."

"From Bakugo?" He pointedly raised a brow which just made her timidly stuff it in her pocket.

"It's nothing...really."

"Yeah because Bakugo's known to give everyone gifts." He teasingly chuckled. "Kinda like Santa Claus."

"Ok Kirishima."

"What?" He shot her an innocent toothy grin. "Look all I'm saying is that what I saw back there didn't seem like nothing to me."

"I don't know. To tell you the truth I don't even know what we are anymore."

"What? You mean friends?"

"Of course." She blinked, being caught off guard by the assumption that perhaps there was more to it which there couldn't be right? "After all....Bakugo would never see me as anything more than the bubbly pink cheeked brunette that's friends with Deku."

"Oh you'd be surprised..." He mumbled under his breath before speaking up. "And you?"

"I..." Snapping her mouth shut she thought back on how much her feelings for the boy had changed since leaving school...or maybe not changed just... "We better keep looking for everyone before something happens."

"Right." Kirishima nodded in agreement as they continued walking. But he also understood that she was using this as a distraction not to answer the questions she probably had. Their silent search only lasted maybe fifteen minutes before she whipped back around to him.
