Pretty Little Perfect

In the canvas of the perfect little home
Time keeps passing by
Everyone scared of what's next to come
But the sheets have already been made bare
Now they all see us
Through the little cracks in the walls
That aren't that's little anymore

The pretty little perfect picture
That they all believed to be the daily
Now lays bare on the cold floor
With scattered glass surrounding

Things are not what they seem to be
Not even the perfect frame and perfect smile
I guess things break at some point
They say it's better to just let go
But tell me, how one let's go
Of a part of themselves with all sanity
Struggling to possibly escape their reality

Laughters and giggles at day
Muffled and silent screams at night
The one place you could call your safe space
Slowly turns into a panic room
That flicker of hope, dimly burning out
When you realize you've been wide awake
And the nightmare was never a dream

Why do beautiful things fade away?
