Split String of Fate:(Killua x Reader x Kurapika)

~Getting Back Killua: Part 5~

               You swipe his hand off your mouth and whisper, "That's exactly why I don't want to go looking for Killua alone." 

               "Y/n we don't have any other choice. You heard how the butler talked to Gon over the phone, I doubt when we get to the Office that they'll be anymore welcoming. There's a chance we won't get to see Killua at all. You have to go looking for him yourself." He says. 

               "Why can't you? You seem a lot more calm than me about this. I want to save Killua, but am I really the best choice to go looking for him on my own?" You ask. 

               "You heard Killua's mom, he never mentioned there being a girl. Odds are most of them aren't aware of your presence and won't be looking for you yet. If you get to the mansion before his mom is able to spread word that you're also here, you might have a chance at finding Killua before they find you. Also, there's no doubt in my mind that you are the strongest out of all of us. So yes, I do believe you're the best choice to be doing this alone." 

                "But what if the others ask where I am?" You ask, trying to find a way out of this. 

                "I'll say you started feeling sick and went back to rest for a bit." You looks at Kurapika unconvinced. "I don't know I'll think of something! Just go, you're running out of time." He says, pulling you into a tight hug and then lightly shoves you in the direction Killua's mother and sister ran towards. "They might have left a path on their way to the mansion. Follow it and say aware of you're surroundings. Be safe." You turn back to say something to him, but he had already ran to catch up with Canary and the others. 

                "Aw damn..." You curse as you sprint in the direction of the mansion.

                You follow the trail left behind by Killua's mother and sister, as instructed. 'I guess they were in such a rush they didn't even bother covering their tracks...' You think, 'Or they're just that confident in their abilities that they didn't have to...' You nearly stumble, feeling genuinely sick just thinking about what they'd do to you if they found you looking for Killua. You quickly get your balance and continue at a safe pace towards the mansion; not to quick so that you are still keeping track of your surroundings, but not too slow so that you don't waste time. 

                after a few minutes a large silhouette of a mansion comes into view. As you got closer, you saw how beautiful the architecture was and the garden in front. The garden at front was definitely well kept, filled with the most exquisite variety of flowers,  but there was a large black fence lining the edges of the flower bushes. The points on top of the fence looked freshly sharpened for future unintelligent burglars, even though the likelihood of anyone making it this far was near impossible. Even in bright daylight, the mansion would look like it was veiled in the nights permanent shadow, due to the harsh blacks, greys and dark purples covering the mansion. If it wasn't for the dark colour pallet and the intimidating facade, it could've been the spitting image of your dream house.

                You didn't let yourself stare too long before rounding the corner of the mansion and looking for another way in. You found a small  hole in one of the rose bushes, seeming to have been formed by the frequent comings and goings of a fairly large animal. You crawled through, not being spared of the sharp points of the roses' thorns and picked the lock of the nearest door. You lightly tapped the door open and took a peek into the mansion. The door opened up into a hallway lit by torches. You looked both ways and listened carefully for any sounds, before entering. You cautiously walked down the long hallway, lightly stepping on the ground to not make any sounds. The hallway soon came to an intersection and you heard foot steps approaching from your left. You quickly backed further into the hallway and slowed your heartbeat and silenced your breathing. Your father taught you how to do this at a young age while playing hide and seek. Who knew it would come into use in a place like this.
