TW: Graphic violence; gore; horror
A dark cloud filled the sky accompanied by a feeling of sorrow; rain drops emerged from the glooming sky disintegrating as it hit the ground. I could feel the coldness of the rain drip down my cheek, signifying that this was a time of sadness.
Pain shot through my legs and chest, due to a deep wound engraved by what I can only describe as a fiery hell beast. Its sharp claws had pierced through my skin specifically my legs and stomach where flesh was torn off.
I limped through the forest grounds searching for my home. But I was lost. My mind was blank; a series of horrific events had forever traumatized me and all I could do was walk. I walked for miles and miles before I got tired.
I passed out right there on the spot surrounded by horrendous weather. Thunder and lightning ruled the forest as everything in its path was destroyed to smithereens.
Yet I lay still, as my life was inconsequential. But the instinct of survival still lied within, slowly fading as my journey continued. Eventually all hope would cease to exist, and life would be the obstacle.
As I woke up the sun gleamed into my eyes giving light to the forest. Yet, I still felt a dark cloud looming over me. After hours of endless walking, I found a town. The suburban air gave me a feeling that I was finally home. But home is just another word to give me comfort.
Deep down I knew there was an abyss. An abyss that would never disappear, it would lay dormant till disrupted. Where I would be soulless, doing horrible things and not having the slightest guilt. I would be a mindless creature, a murderous being. I have realized, somewhere inside of me lies a devil. A
devil slowly destroying my innocence, while it has a hold on my heart. It entertains itself by brutally killing while I just watch. My hands stabbing into human flesh, blood forming into a fountain where the devil bathes. The victim pleading for mercy while pain courses through every part of their body. And after every kill the same bone chilling feeling goes down my spine...fear.
I gasped for breath. It was a dream. I still lied in the forest and there was no shining sun, only darkness. I screamed letting out all the agonizing pain that lied within. A sudden noise arose in the air. A growl. I trembled with fear, as I tried to look at was this monstrous creature was, an impulse told me not to move. I chose to ignore it but for some reason my body wouldn't budge. I was paralyzed with fear.
The growling got louder and louder and then went silent. I breathed heavily waiting for death, but nothing happened. Relief fell over me, and I felt reassured that there was no monster.
As I turned my neck a ferocious beast lunged at me with full force. It was a fearless predator. A wolf. It snapped its jaws, hungry for a snack. The wolf sunk its claws deep into my skin sending a shock of unimaginable pain.
Then the wolf escaped my grasp biting my shoulder taking a chunk out of it. Blood dripped from its mouth, and I saw a look of murderous intent in the wolf's eyes. To the wolf that was supper, now it's desert. It lunged at me once more but this time I dodged it.
It circled me growling, inserting fear into me. My body started shaking and the wolf caught me in a state of weakness. The wolf ran at me with its treacherous razor sharp teeth, so I started running. I looked behind me trying to spot where the wolf was when I tripped. I slammed into the ground. I tried to crawl to safety, but it was no use.
Out of desperate hope I picked up a sharp stick. The wolf started to walk towards me getting every little ounce of fear it could squeeze cut out of me. Finally, it lunged. I positioned the stick perfectly so when the wolf tried to land on my chest ripping out my internal organs, the stick would stab through the roof of its mouth.
The chances were slim, but it was the best chance I got. I closed my eyes and right before I knew it blood dripped onto my face. My plan had succeeded. But what was the point. This incident could've brought me death. A gift I yearned for.
I got up and started walking once more. I finally reached a cliff. I looked down, a black pit awaited me at the bottom. This is my destiny. To get rid of the demon within me. I jumped off the cliff freefalling through the sky. Death awaits me, and I await it.
