The performance was supposed to save her.
The Rift was supposed to close.
Eunjae had stepped into the stage's burning heart with the song blooming on her lips, the Fifth Voice piercing the shadow like a blade made of memory. For a second—just a second—everyone believed it worked. The stage went silent. The light collapsed inward.
But something remained.
It was a note that shouldn't have lingered. A shimmer in the center of the Rift, as if it had inhaled... and decided to remember.
They didn't see her die.
They saw her vanish.
And the Rift didn't close.
It just... blinked.
And in that blink, everything changed.
