Chapter 6
FAITHS POV:
I woke up the next morning and walked downstairs.
"Good morning." Gary said. "Morning." I said. "Dave said that you can go see him." He said. "Really? When?" I asked. "Whenever you get ready." He said. I went back up stairs and started to get ready.
After I was ready I came back down.
"I'm ready." I said. Gary nodded and grabbed his keys.
We rode in silence the whole time.
When we pulled up to the building I got nervous for some reason.
"You okay?" Gary asked as he shut the car off. I nodded and took a deep breath. "Yeah."
We got out of the car and walked in the building. Gary found out where Tim was and we went there.
"You want me to go in with you?" He asked. "No, I have to do this alone." I said.
He nodded. I went up to the door and knocked on it.
After a minute the door opened. He looked surprised to see me.
"Faith! ... Come in." He said and shut the door behind us.
We both sat down on the bed.
"I felt like we needed to have a civilized talk." I said. "Yeah, I guess we do." He said.
"First of all why'd you try to harm yourself?" I asked.
He looked me in the eyes for the first time. I could see all the pain and hurt.
"Because you left. You left right after our son died. We are suppose to be helping each other get through this, but you left. I don't only have to deal with the loss of our son, but the loss of you too." He said. Tears were rolling down his cheek.
"I'm sorry. I really am, but I don't want you to harm yourself." I said.
Tim just shook his head. "I wish this was all a dream. That I could wake up and you'd still be in my arms pregnant with Jackson." He said. Now I was crying. "Me too." I said.
We just sat there and cried with each other for a few minutes.
"Come back to me." He said. "I can't." I said. "Why not?" He asked. "Every time I look at you I think about Jackson." I said tears rolling down my cheek.
"I'm sorry." He said quietly. "I am too, but I want you to get better and get out of here. I don't want to walk and act like your dead. I want you to live." I said.
He sighed. "It's hard to live when the person that gave you life has left you." He said looking me in the eyes for only the second time.
I couldn't breathe for a second.
"You should leave. The longer you stay the harder it is going to be to let you go." He said crying. I nodded. "I love you." I said looking him in the eyes. "I love you too." He said. The tears kept on rolling, but I somehow found my way out of the room.
