I sat there and looked to the side of me to see Jaye sitting there gleeing beautifully at Shila, honestly it was the happiest I had seen her in a long long time and I was basking in it, basking in it til my attention was drawn back to Fred who had gotten up clinking at his champagne flute one too many times making all of us erupt into laughter.

Fred..- I want to give the floor to the stand up guy, the man or the hour .. Jaye's groom, Fareef Vandall!
A tremor of applause came from all angles or the room and I got up confidently whilst Fred made his way over and handed me the mic whilst brushing me off and I chuckled slightly,
Reef..- you'll get a raise
Everyone laughed as I stood there bracing myself to speak on everything that led to this moment. I was nervous. Startled. That we actually against all odds were here today, I looked down at Jaye who had reassured me in that moment but holding onto my hand brushing her thumb against it soothing me from my anxieties.
