Lyanna sat shivering in a cave a top a mountain. She stared into the dancing flames in front of her, one hand lying on the rising and falling stomach of Winter. Regret filled her. She should have road south with Tyrion Lannister instead of going beyond the wall. She had little with her but yet she had managed to stay alive this long. All she had brought was a pack full of enough food and water to last a couple weeks, her bow and a quiver of arrows, books and Winter her dire wolf pup. She also had her father's sword, Dark Sister. The ancient sword of House Targaryen, forged from Velaryon steel. And two eggs Rhaegar Targaryen kept hidden, one a deep crimson and one white as snow. They meant nothing to Lyanna just things she had to lug around in the deep snow and ice.
Memories flooded her with no distraction to keep them at bay. She remembered Robert Baratheon coming to Winterfell to ask Ned to be his hand. Jon and her had to be out of sight, as they were bastards. When Ned agreed to go south and take his girls, Jon decided it was his time to go to the Wall. Ned had instructed her to stay in Winterfell with Lady Catelyn, Robb, Rickon and nearly dead Bran. Lyanna loved Robb and enjoyed the idea of staying at Winterfell, but she would miss Arya and Jon. Her place was not where her brother wasn't. She had told Lord Stark that she would be safer with him, even as close to the king she was Ned was the only other person that new the lie. And Nan was the one who died her hair all of these years.
"Let me see Jon off at the wall then I will ride with the imp to Kings Landing." She had pleaded. Now she wished she had listened to him. Robert Baratheon dead, Lord Stark dead, Joffery on the throne and a war. She weeped every night, her dreams plagued her with her family. She could be helping her cousin The Young Wolf in his war. But something had called her to the ice. In Winterfell she dreamed of this place, Old Nan told her she was childish and Ned told her to keep the dreams to herself. Nothing pained her more than watching her uncle, who had raised her like his own, get his head cut off with Sansa's screams echoing. She couldn't help any of them. She couldn't find her way back to the wall if she wanted to. Lately her dreams were of fire and a silver haired girl. Nothing made sense but she saw tan skin engulfed in flames. Silver hair and violet eyes. It had to be King Aerys storm-born daughter, the one King Robert desperately wanted dead. She looked at her own hair the dye only remained at the ends of her hair. Silver against the black.
Winter jostled up, her ears perked and her eyes narrowed. Winter had been acting lost since Lady's death several months ago. This was different her teeth bared at the stone covered eggs. Heat swarmed Lyannas body, a dream taking hold of her mind. A wonderful sound filled her ears, her eyes took sight on a hoard of dothraki kneeling before a naked girl with silver hair and three dragons.
"Hen ānogār ñurhot Kīviō Dārilaros māzīlza, se zȳhon suvio perzō vāedar kessa!" Lyanna cried. From my blood come the Prince That Was Promised and his will be the Song of Ice and Fire. Ravenous Lyanna clutched her own two eggs and placed them into the fire. The magic of her house had returned. Crimson wings sprang through the shell followed by the white baby dragon.
