There is nothing else left to explore. I've spent my whole summer vacation wandering through every corner of this small little town with my purple backpack and my trusty map. I've spent the entire summer teaching Spanish while staring at nothing but trees, truly believing someone is there. Listening. Learning. Speaking the basic Spanish words I've taught them so well. They are real. And im glad that their here for me

I tell my mother that the backpack, the monkey, and the map really speak to me, but she doesn't believe it. She truly believes there are some mental issues at play. But I know better. They sing songs. They comfort and guide me. I owe everything to them—even though the monkey can be quite obnoxious sometimes. They're the only pieces of family I have left that truly believe in me, that don't think I'm crazy.

"Dora! Dora! Let's go to the lake!" Boots says in the highest-pitched voice a male monkey could possibly reach.

I nod in agreement, knowing I've been there a million times before. Nothing's really new anymore—but I decide to go anyway. It's another opportunity to teach something new to the people.
