Brutal yearning.

(We're back! Might as well give you the good ending and closure to this story! This is a flashback, Dandy's POV, it somewhat explains his actions in my own way + my own headcanons. This is still Moonberry 100%, that's not changing, they will have a happy ending in this but just so we know, the ending I wrote in the first place is the canon one to this story. Anyways, I love to yap but on to the story telling.)

(Timeline takes place right after Astro and Sprout's first date.. If you recall in that chapter, Astro felt someone watching him, here's the context to it.)

A date? Really..? Dandy used his hand to lightly brush the curtain out of the way. The entrance of that little outside area, it looked like a mini planetarium really, just with the real night sky, it had a curtain, a red velvety one. Dandy always liked those kind of curtains, it reminded him when he was star of the show.. the velvet felt like stage curtains. He watched Astro and Sprout stare up at the stars, Astro pointing out familiar constellations, something Dandy and him used to do. Dandy could never picture the image of Astro and Sprout together, they were too different! I mean.. so are him and Astro but.. Astro was Dandy's friend first! It'd just make sense for them to end up together... atleast in Dandy's perfect world. But he could see the way Sprout looked at Astro. The look, kind of like his own for the moon themed toon... It was love, hopeless love at that. His cousin (Sprout + Dandy cousin headcanon) always was a stupid romantic, but he'd always bet he'd end up with Cosmo, they spend enough time with each other anyways. Dandy backed away from the curtain, releasing it from his grip and letting it fall back into place. Dandy leaned against the wall, listening to the conversation the two were having, obviously Sprout didn't listen to him.. he never takes him seriously, huh?

Dandy was alerted as soon as he heard his Astro get up, he panicked, but not panicked enough to not have quick thinking. He scurried over to one of the plants he took care of everyday, he tended to the garden in Gardenview often, but he ducked behind the plant, he was short enough for it to cover him completely. He saw Astro look back briefly, Astro always was a little paranoid, he knew someone was there.. but he chose to walk off. Dandy sighed as he watched Astro walk.. if only he made a move sooner, stupid clutz of a strawberry! He was not about to let him swipe his best friend under his feet.

Dandy ended up back at his room. Due to being the only lethal toon, he was isolated from the rest. He opened his room door, turning the rusted door knob and walking inside. There were papers scattered everywhere, the only organized corner of his room belonged to his beloved pet rock, Pebble.. who was currently out.. Out where? Dandy had no clue, but he left the door open a smidge because Pebble always came back. He walked over to his desk and slumped down in his chair. But there was a paper there, one he sure he hadn't seen before.

"Ichor.. operation..?" Dandy muttered, reading the title. One finger hooked under his mouth as he read the contents. It was an experiment, one that looked too dangerous to try on himself.. it laid out all the steps on this paper.. and the side effects. Hm.. Dandy wouldn't do this to just anyone, his intense feelings of jealousy and insecurity.. He had the perfect guinea pig in mind..
