"Happy birthday Abby!" shouts her mom and dad.
"Happy sweet sixteenth!" they scream together.
Abby smiles as she blows out her candles while her parents cheer. It's Saturday night and she and her family just got back from Abby's party with her friends at the local park. After blowing out the candles and eating cake, Abby kisses her parents goodnight and goes up to her room to sleep.
She dreams. Her dream is of a strange boy who is trying to help her "move on." He brings her to Mayfly St. and is telling her that everything will be ok. Then the strange boy leaves. She looks after him. His brunette hair and blue eyes, his blue and white sweatshirt and red basketball shorts with his black Jordan's and red socks. She pictures them standing together, her long curly brown hair and her brown eyes, her purple crop-top and skinny jeans, and her black converse. She follows him into a dark alley where he turns around and yells run as a fiery demon grabs him. She then sees a second demon, this one looking much different. It has what looks like headlights for eyes and a metal body with airbag fingers. It reaches for her.
She awakes to her mom and dad beside her bed asking if she's all right. She tells them about her dream and they comfort her. They kiss her goodnight once more.
She gets up at 10:00 a.m. for church. She arrives with her family right as the service begins. The pastor announces the theme of the service is demons. She immediately remembers her strange dream and wonders if this is a coincidence or what.
Once the service is over she goes out to lunch with her family at Elio's Diner. Once she gets home she calls her best friend Kimmy and tells her about her weird dream and about church. They both come to the conclusion that this must mean something and can't be a coincidence. They say goodbye.
Abby hangs up and lays down on her bed thinking about everything that has happened and starts to worry. Once she composes herself she sits down at her desk and begins her weekend homework.
