"I don't know where to begin..." A tall woman bounced her legs nervously on the couch. "Start from the beginning." The therapist fixed her glasses and crossed her legs over listening carefully. "I had a miscarriage about 3 weeks ago.." she nodded as her hands wringed one another "my condolences Mrs. Fawn, must be very difficult." The therapist frowned heartbroken taking in her words. "Yea well.. my husband.. Luke- he uh.. he tries to cheer me up but I know he's hurt too..." Mrs. Fawn grabbed a tissue and wiped her teary eyes. "I'm sorry.." she added feeling embarrassed. "No need please I'm here to help in any way I can." The therapist came up and hugged her knowing this situation was not an easy thing. "Our 4 yr old Brian, didn't know we-hadn't told him.. but he had told me something.." Mrs. Fawn sniffed embracing the hug. "What exactly did he say do u remember?" The professional sat back down in her chair. "I was in the laundry room putting clothes into the hamper when he ran up and asked where his brother was.." Mrs Fawn sobbed "I told Taylor our relatives could have slipped and told him, or said it near him." Luke the husband rubbed his wife's shoulder comforting her as best he could. "Hmm I see." The therapist nodded. "We didn't know the gender tho." Taylor the wife spoke up. "Tell me more about ur son Brian." The therapist looked between the two. "Great kid, never a dull moment with him, unfortunately he was born with some partial hearing loss in the left ear." The father Luke spoke. "The doctor had informed us there's no cure but can manage the loss." Taylor sighed. "So u mentioned a relative could have said something.. do they visit often?" The therapist questioned. "Oh yes as often as they can and they had stayed over for thanksgiving..." Taylor scanned the room taking in some of the warm toned colours and decorations. "Yea well about that.. Brian had a disagreement with one of his cousins, we weren't upstairs so we didn't know fully-" "Luke please.." Taylor rested a hand on his knee. "It's prudent she knows." Luke huffed "know what?" The clinician leaned forward slightly. "Brian got a little confused that's all." Taylor tried as Luke shook his head. "We are not an angry type of couple, but Brian.." Luke paused for a minute unable to believe the story himself. "He had a knife and cut into his cousin's arm." The room fell silent air thickened the only thing that scratched into the quiet minutes was the ticking of the wall clock. "Oh..what happened to the cousin?" the therapist managed "has anything happened like this before?" "Thankfully it was just a minor cut nothing deep enough for stitches, we tried a children's psychologist but it didn't last." Luke looked away hurt at what has become of his son. "Brian refused to talk to the psychologist all he would do is stare into his eyes with this dark evil stare.." Taylor recalled the moment getting chills. "Hm..so what made u guys stop going?" The therapist asked "we were pulled from the room and he suggested we have him evaluated properly." Taylor started "At first we were skeptical, scared ofc but when we got back to the room Brian had been stomping on a fish from the small tank." Luke finished the story off. "This behavior is quite unusual for a child his age.. have u tried anything at home or decided to let doctors evaluate him further?" The therapist adjusted in her seat wanting to know more. "After that we were well aware Brian needed extra attention, so I sat with him and the more I talked the angrier he got." Luke shook his head lifting his sleeve showing the shrink a huge bruised bite mark on his arm. "Ur son did- that?" She was caught off guard. "It looks nothing like a bite from a 4 year old...we know." Luke winced sliding the sleeve back down. "When I heard Luke holler I ran up the stairs and Brian swore at me looking straight into my eyes with that same dark creepy glare.." Taylor held her chest "What did he say Mrs. Fawn?"
