Highschool is like a cult. Honestly, it sounds idiotic, but it seriously is. Imagine being on a tightrope, one wrong step away from falling into a deep, dark hole. That's what it's like.

Being even slightly different is like a death wish. Bullies can smell weirdos like werewolves can smell blood.

The truth of it all is, no one actually cares about anyone's feelings. But seriously... what do you expect? There's 50 states in the US, and you chose Ohio. That's a death wish on its own.

Christian walked into a normal school day, his head held high as if hes the king -which technically, he is, at school at least- and strutting in his leather jacket and smacking gum. Everyone talked in groups, gathered in a circle like little minions. What was so interesting that no one even acknowledged his presence the second he stepped a toe into school? This had to be examined.

"What's going on? What's more interesting than me?" Christian asked Danny, one of his 'mates'.

"Haven't you heard? We're getting a new kid. Our 'let's bully these people!' List is growing!" He punched his shoulder, grinning. He hadn't signed up for this part, you see. Christian swears he's the nicest soul you'll ever meet, mentally, but physically he can't keep his mouth from spitting out a snarky comment for more than 2 minutes.

"Do we have any details on this poor soul?" Christian grinned mischievously, tapping the locker they were standing by.

"His name is Issac, exchange student from London. Right 'nobhead' I bet. Maybe quite smart.." Christian gave him a stern look- everyone knows, or made to think, that he's the best looking, smartest chap in the school; make that the whole world. "Well, the brits think they're smarter than us, don't they?"

Suddenly, everyone's eyes were pulled with some sort of magnetic force to this boy who had just entered the building. He had dreamy, fluffy brown hair and deep brown eyes you could stare at for days. He had jeans, a top and a zip up hoodie on, accessorised by necklaces, bracelets, rings and many other things Like a scarf, converse shoes, chains and about 3 ear piercings. Christian tried to not make it too obvious he was staring -examining- this beautiful boy, but it was merely impossible. He had a slight natural smile, and lashes so long Christian could spot them from a long distance away- and is that eyeliner?

In a hurry, Christian walked as fast as his stunned legs could take him to his locker, and started unlocking it and getting out his books.

PS: I'm British, so I don't know much about America's school system :)
