You loved them quietly, almost as though loving them was something you were afraid to disturb. You loved the way their presence made the world feel a little less distant. Somehow, they understood the silence you could never put into words. They never made you feel like you were too difficult to understand. You could be distant, tired, quiet, and still feel wanted. There was something comforting about being known without having to explain yourself. You didn't need to pretend that everything was fine. You didn't need to become someone easier to love. They saw the parts of you that you tried so desperately to hide. And somehow, they never looked away. Maybe that was what made it feel so frighteningly real. You weren't saving each other. You were simply reminding each other that you weren't alone. Two people carrying their own loneliness, finding something gentle in one another. And for once, being understood felt enough. / Bad Ideas.
