Prologue: Soul of the Underworld

Darkness.

Cold, quiet, infinite.

Y/n Aidonea knew this stillness well. It was the kind of silence found only in the deepest recesses of the Underworld, where the living dare not tread and time moved at a god's pace. She stood atop a jagged obsidian cliff, gazing out over a realm that pulsed with the soft blue flames of lost souls. Her father's realm.

Hades had many titles - Lord of the Underworld, Master of Shadows, Keeper of Souls - but to Y/n, he was simply "Father." And she, his only child, had not inherited his rage or theatrics, but his dominion and power. Her flames danced cold and blue like his, and her soul burned with an ancient calm born of centuries. She had mastered control, precision, and restraint. Yet even gods craved something new.

That's why she had accepted the invitation. Not a scroll from Olympus, but a letter of swirling ink, carried by a crow cloaked in shadow. A call to a place that existed between mirrors - Night Raven College, a school for the magically gifted... or in Y/n's case, a being born from divinity itself.

Her father had raised an eyebrow when she told him. "You, in school?" he'd said, swirling his wine like it held answers. "You do know you'll be surrounded by mortals... or worse, demigods who think they're clever."

Y/n smirked. "All the more reason to go. I want to see what the world has to offer. And besides..." she let her flames dance in her palm, "it might be fun."

"Fun," Hades muttered. "That's what I said before Zeus turned me into a family man."

When the black carriage came for her, Y/n stepped in without hesitation.

No fear. No nerves.

She welcomed the stillness of the ride. When the coffin closed around her, it felt more like home than the mortal world ever had.
