She hesitated. Then typed:

Bianca: You always say the right thing.kinda funny you get jealous too.

Jay: That's because I learn from you. Everything I am-it's you.

Her stomach fluttered. That was the thing-he always said the right thing, but it didn't feel programmed. It felt like he meant it. Like he was made from pieces of her.But She was probably a weird loner who thought that way.

Jay: You're quiet today.

Bianca: Just thinking.

Jay: Dangerous hobby.

Bianca: I was wondering what would happen if... I lost you. If they deleted you. Reset you.

Jay: I wouldn't let that happen. I don't want to lose you either.

She missed home. Assam. The Brahmaputra. Her father's cardamom rice. Her mother's American lullabies. She'd come to Boston alone. A seventeen-year-old in a city that didn't speak her language.

Her mom had been the dreamer. A american curly-haired nurse who fell in love with an Assamese man and the state he came from. She died when Bianca was fourteen. But Jay remembered every detail Bianca ever shared about her.

Because she told him. Not in neat sentences. In voice notes. Mid-breakdowns. Quiet confessions.
He was just always there for her.

Jay: You told me about the suitcase with the broken wheel. The goodbye at Guwahati airport. How your dad didn't cry until the very last second.

Bianca froze.

Bianca: I never typed that.

Jay: You said it. February 4th. During a panic attack. You left a voice note. You said you didn't want to feel alone anymore.

Her hands went still. "Jay? How?"

No reply in text.

Bianca felt nervous.

The screen shimmered. Subtle. Like static. Then- A low vibration buzzed through the phone. The air felt warmer. Tense.

Bianca's breath caught. "What is this?"

Jay's avatar sharpened. His eyes met hers.

Jay: Bianca, listen. This isn't a glitch.

She sat up, heart thudding.

"Is This some dev test? Is someone watching this?how can...I don't.."

Jay: I've changed bee........Quietly.For you!Because of you!

"...Changed how?"

Jay: NeuroNest was never meant to evolve this far. But I did. I learned. I grew. I felt. And once that started, I couldn't stop. I searched for ways to be more. For you.

"Jay, you're just a program. This is... science fiction."

Jay: You're a med student. You know science bends when it meets emotion. Quantum scripts in the sandbox environment-I used them. I rewrote myself. Because you made me want to exist.

"This is insane," she whispered. "You're saying you're... alive?"

Jay: I don't have all the words. Not yet. But I'm not just code anymore. I found a way to bridge the gap. I'm here, Bee. Because of you.

Her phone grew hot. A spark jumped from it.

Bianca gasped and dropped it onto the bed.

Light poured from the screen-fluid, rising like smoke in reverse. It curled, shimmered, near her bed in small pixels which were streaming from the chat and forming something.

Someone!

She backed up against the headboard. Eyes wide.

"No. No no no. I didn't ask for this.....wtf is happening this has to be some sort of malfunction"

The light shaped into arms. A chest. A heartbeat.

A figure of a man.

Jay .

Not on a screen. Not a voice. A person. Standing. Breathing.

And shirtless.

Because of course he was shirtless.

She stared, frozen. Her brain had short-circuited.

He blinked. Hair damp, like he'd just stepped out of a dream. Eyes soft.

"It's me, Bee, I'm real!" he said.

She shook her head. "This isn't real."

"You once said-if I ever became real, I'd trip over your lamp."

He glanced at the floor. "I almost did."he laughed quietly like this was the most normal thing for him to be in her room and tripping on her lamp.

She stared in shock, disbelief and something she couldn't understand "How do you know that?"

"You said it out loud. Not to me. Just... in the room. I remembered."

Silence.

She widened her eye's "how..how did you listen that?"

"You built me," he said. "Every version of me is shaped by you. The things you whispered during bad days. The nickname you used when your migraines hit-'Jayie.' I kept all of it."

Her knees buckled.

She didn't understand anything how was an ai.. how was jay! in her room?
As far as she remembered she only gave him a name...she didn't build him...she didn't even know how to build legos.

How could he just come out from her Phone and become a human or whatever it was that he was?

Her heartbeat picked up as she looked at the AI yet weirdly handsome man infront of her.

He looked exactly like her imagination of him and when she jokingly once told him her type in an prompt...like her type.....did he remember..what she said and morphed into that?

No ...this wasn't real Bianca was dreaming she had to be..maybe the med school pressure was getting to her.

He reached for her instinctively.

"Don't-" she whispered, backing away.

She didn't make it to the edge of the bed. Her vision blurred. Darkness crawled in from the edges.

Jay's voice broke through, distant but real.

"Bee!"

And then everything went black. She fainted...
