Percy's checklist:
- Deep clean his room
- Iron his laundry
- Provide a report at the school council meeting at 6pm
The first two things were relatively simple. Percy always kept his dorm tidy and neat, and he found a lot of peace in ironing his clothes. He enjoyed smoothing the wrinkles and being lost in thought about a previous fight he had with a villain two days ago.
It was around 4pm and Percy still had some time left before the council meeting. As he checked the mini fridge in the dorm, he realised there was no more strawberry milk boxes. He must've drank them all last night when he was cramming.
Percy sighed inwardly before shutting the fridge door with his left hand, pinching the bridge of his nose as his eyebrows furrowed, a subtle but not-so-subtle look of mild annoyance crossing his usually perfect features.

Off campus, there was a bunch of other students roaming the streets, giggling and having overall fun with their respective groups. It was nice to see, and it made Percy's heart clench, missing his own friends. Pulling out his phone while he walked down the pavement, he texted his group chat.
'Anyone want anything? I'm going to the corner store.'
Then, a reply from Benji, one of his best friends:
'ye can u get me a redbull'
'Sure. Anything else?'
'nah cheers'
Another friend messaged, Luka:
'Wair can u getbme 2 fantas'
'Alright. Anything else?'
'Nope thbanks'
Well, now that Percy had orders to fill, he walked with a bit more purpose. The corner store was quite literally around the corner from campus, so it wouldn't take that long.
Percy walked inside, the bell jingling to alert the shopkeeper of his arrival. He flashed them a faint and charming smile, his composed school president facade never faltering. "Good afternoon, Daisy." His words were soft and attentive, earning a little wave and wide smile from the shopkeeper.
He perused the aisles with a basket hanging on his arm, making his way towards the fridges where all the drinks were kept.
... where was the strawberry milk? Oh, there it is—
"Percy," the voice, even more soothing and recognisable to the blonde's ears had his hand freeze up on the fridge door handle, head slowly turning to the left. "What a pleasant surprise." Evan finished with a small smile, his fang almost noticeable poking over his lower lip.
Narrowing his eyes from the glow, Percy saw Evan holding a drink, a Lipton iced tea gently grasped in his slender fingers. The blonde blinked, steeling himself as his heart began to hammer in his chest. "Likewise, Evan. Um, wh—" Percy cleared his throat quietly, "what are you doing here?"
Well wasn't it obvious? The boy had an iced tea in his hands.
"Initially, I came here because I was thirsty." Evan looked down at the label of his iced tea, a thumb tracing over the signage on the plastic. "But it seems the universe had other plans and made our paths cross."
Percy proceeded to nod very slowly, an awkward smile crossing his lips as he opened the door and put the strawberry milk into his basket. He turned his head, closing the fridge and fully turning his body to look slightly down at Evan.
The blonde didn't even realise it, but he got lost in the poetry that was Evan's words. He was entranced, attentive... and so utterly captivated by those icy blue depths. Those soft lips. His placating voice, hypnotic in all its softness. Blah blah blah... poetry stuff.
By the time Percy waved goodbye to Evan as he paid for his drink and left, his heart was pounding and it felt like he broke into a cold sweat. Tugging at his shirt collar with his finger, he let out a sigh and approached the cashier, paying for his items.
It seemed that whenever Percy spoke to the light boy, he found himself appreciating his life a bit more.
Like... has the sky always looked that beautiful? When's the last time Percy even looked at the sky?

With a plastic bag in his left hand, Percy unlocked his dorm handle with the other, letting himself inside before shutting the door. Benji was lying sideways on the couch in the open living room, legs swung over the arm of the couch and his headphones over his ears.
"I'm back," Percy announced, putting the strawberry milk into the mini fridge one by one. Benji shot a drowsy glance towards Percy crouched by the mini fridge and sat up, right hand pulling down the muffs of his headphones to hang around his neck.
"Did you get my red bull?" He asked curiously, raising an eyebrow at Percy's lack of... well, any energy drink. That's when it clicked and the blonde let out a frustrated groan, dropping the empty plastic bag to the floor and grasping his head in his hands.
"Of course! That's what I forgot..." he forced a laugh, one that the ever so calm Benji has heard a million times from the school president. That facade can only hold for so long before things went south.
"Do you wanna.." Benji trailed off, looking into Percy's now expectant eyes as they lit up at those three words. "Yes, fuck yes." Percy walked over almost on autopilot to the balcony, unbuttoning his blazer to open it and pick out a single cigarette tucked away in the secret pocket.
Benji shot up and tossed his headphones onto the couch, walking up to the sliding door and letting Percy walk out without pausing a single step before joining him outside.
"Is this about him aga—" Benji started, only to be cut off with a sharp;
"Yes..."
