Pulling up to the big green rusty gates making my heart beat violently in my throat I mean yes I'm 5 an my biggest fear currently sat here in me pink booster seat feeling like the green gates are about to swallow me up an never spit me back out again, while I see small tiny figures running into the gates excited for the day ahead off them
"hey baby your going to be just fine, your going to make friendships that are going to stick with you for the rest off your life. you just be your self"
my mum says with a big encouraging smile of her face un buckling her belt getting out swinging my door open with a loud creek.
Turning my head towards her hitting each cheek with my pig tale plates
"mummy I'm scared please don't leave me " I can feel my big green eyes burning with unleash tears that are threating to fall down my cheeks
"baby I promise to be here when you finish, I know this big change is hard but you'll never know what is waiting down the other road if you don't swallow your fear an take the first step "
she leans in kissing my cheek un bulking my belt lifting my tiny frame out off the car landing my on my little legs, she takes my small pale hand ( no I'm not pale because I'm scared I'm just ghostly white) she leads me to the classroom letting go while kissing my hand i feel the tears wheeling back up.
Waving goodbye through the classroom window seeing that the teacher has now closed the door trapping us from running away from this god offal place, i watch her enter the red tin on wheels pulling out the car park
"Zila please take a seat so we can start for the day"
parking my bum on the red chair looking a head towards the clock watching the hands tick by waiting till i can run into the arms off my safe place waiting at the car for me.
The time goes by pretty fast its currently lunch time an I'm sat in the same place i sat at brake, a rainbow coloured bench called the "be friend bench" its to try an help us feel included an so we know that they haven't got anyone to play with, but irony off the bench is that i don't want friends I don't want to play I just want to sit an wait for the time to pass its just the only bench in the yard. keeping my eyes on me new black shiny school shoes as I kick an play with the stones on the ground
"hey my names Melody" sticking out her perfectly tanned hand out for mine to shake i just look up to her face seeing her big blue eyes staring back at me with her blond hair tied up in a perfect pony tail, I just look back down as I said earlier I'm not here to make friends I'm here to learn an leave that's it ( you'd think I was doing jail time at this point definitely feels like it )
" I get it I'm a lot everyone tells me allllll the time but my mum loves it not so much my brother but I don't care"
shrugging she smile being happy with being unapologetically her self
"I'm going to play on the swings if you want to join ill save the other one just in case"
she says getting to her feet darting off to the swings.
Time went by so slowly I never know a hour to be son long, looking up to the clear blue sky kinda reminding off Melodys eyes wondering where an what my daddy is doing now, its been 4 months since I last saw him leaving us so quietly, one night is was being tucked in with goodnight kiss from the both off them feeling like the worlds most loved kid then boom i wake up to one parent gone that's never coming back an my mum crying holding something in the kitchen
" mummy where's daddy" whipping her tears trying to fool me out off the fact she was just crying
"oh baby he's just gone away for a bit but he told me to tell you he loves you dearly an will see you again soon"
nodding I gave her a hug knowing somewhere in there she was lying an she was!
A high pitch scream rips through the play ground grounding my to earth, following the slowly growing crowed off 5 year olds I jump up walk to them an that's when I see the sun sat off the floor in a puddle off tears cradling her know bleeding knee, looking towards the swing she once occupied I see a laughing smiling snotty boy giggling an pointing at her. Before i could comprehend the feeling in my heart I went over sucker punching the boy off the swinging turning to Melody picking her up
"you okay" looking down at her knee as she is now the one giggling an pointing along with the rest off the crowed
"yes thankyou" she pulls me into a bone crushing hug an there i knew i was never letting go off the little ray off sun shine I found in the dark
" Zila violence isn't acceptable please make your way to the principles office we will be ringing your mother" shrugging not caring that I was about to be in a grate deal off trouble, i mean i shouldn't be the boy who was pushing Melody around should be but hey ho what can you do not everyone sees the good in things or people for that matter.
