Her Love Affair - Narcissa Malfoy

1. Arrival

Draco and I sat next to each other on the train.
We had been best friends since year 5, now it was our last year and we went home to his family's manor for the Christmas break. I've never been to his house before but it was time.
We were pretty close. I didn't really have a family, of course I had parents but they lived separated and I didn't feel close to either of them. My dad was always very angry and my mother was emotionally unavailable. That's why I always felt very alone when I was with them.
Draco knew this, so he asked me to come with him instead so I could have a nice holiday as well.
I've never met his parents but I heard quite a lot about them, not just good things... I was a bit nervous to be honest. But I trusted Draco so I knew that it would be fine.
I lay my head against the cold window glass and looked at the landscapes, I had a headache again. I always got them from stress at school, sometimes it got so bad that I couldn't get out of bed. I was very excited for these peaceful weeks at the manor.
"y/n?? Are you okay?", Draco asked concerned, he always took care of me when I wasn't feeling well. "Just a headache again.", I said.
"Shit, but we'll be there soon and I think my mum has a potion or something for it.".
"Perfect.", I replied. I really hoped it wouldn't be awkward meeting them, I often didn't know what to say.
The train stopped and we got up. I pulled my black suitcase out from under our seats and put on my black trenchcoat. I was dressed all in black today I noticed, fits the family I guess.

When we stepped outside I recognised them immediately. I mean you couldn't confuse them.
They both looked so much like Draco, were even as beautiful as him. But I couldn't take my eyes off his mother. Her beauty was intoxicating.
Her elegant clothes and her confident gaze. She didn't look back at me though. I know she loved Draco more than anything. They hugged tightly for at least five seconds. Then she gave me her hand and welcomed me with a loving smile. His father just stood there uninterested and said:
"Welcome home Draco, who are you again?", glancing over at me. "I'm y/n. So good to finally meet you. Thank you so much, for letting me stay with you for the holidays.", I tried to say in a confident tone. "It's our pleasure.", his mother replied warmly.
Then we apparated to the Malfoy Manor.

A few hours later I was already getting comfortable in my new room, it was so pretty.
I've never slept in such a big bed, it was a canopy! I've always wanted one. It had a wooden frame with beautiful details and white drapes on each side. I lay there and admired this beautiful room. It was just one part of the house though, I bet there were even prettier places.
Then it knocked on the door. I said "Come in.", fully expecting it to be Draco. But it was his mother. "Hi, I'm sorry to disturb you. Draco told me you had a headache.".
"Yeah I do, no worries I was just admiring this room.". "You like it?" , she was surprised and sat
down on the bed next to me.
"Yes, I love it.".
"Draco's other friends always complain that everything is so old here.", she chuckled
"That's exactly what I love." (Little did she know not only the furniture.)
"But you're quite different to his other friends in general."
"Why? What did he tell you about me?", I asked concerned.
"A lot but don't worry, I only heard good things.
You seem to be doing him well." This made me feel so proud.

"I made this potion for your headache.", she gave me a small glass with a purple liquid. It looked so poisonous, but I would ve taken anything from her.
I swallowed it and one second later the headache was gone. "Thank you so much, Mrs. Malfoy.", I smiled at her.
"My pleasure, darling. Dinner's always at 7 o'clock, don't be late.", she got up and left the room.
I already noticed that she could be quite hot and cold. But I was extremely intrigued by her.
