Colin stared at her for a second - then he grinned, wide and boyish, like she had just told him wis wildest dream is coming true.

"Brylee Jost, are you telling me you want to have a bunch of my kids?"

She snorted, smacking his arm. "Don't say it like that, you nerd."

Colin laughed, catching her hand in his and kissing her knuckled. "You know I'd give you whatever you wanted, right?" His voice was softer now, laced with something deeper.

Brylee swallowed hard, nodding. "I know."

He kissed all her fingers again, then smirked. "Even if that means our grocery bill will be insane and I'll never have a quiet moment ever again."

Colin let out a long sigh, shaking his head. "Guess I should start working on my dad jokes now."

She laughed, curling into him again. "You're already painfully good at them."

"I take that as a compliment."

She smiled against his hoodie. "You would."

Colin rested his chin on the top of her head, his voice a little softer, a little more serious when he murmured -

"I love you, Brylee."

She closed her eyed, letting those words settle deep in her bones.

"I love you too, Colin."

And as they sat there - wrapped up in each other, wrapped up in the future they were slowly building - she realized something.

This was it

This was home.

-----

The kitchen was warm, the scent of simmering food filling the air as Brylee stirred the pot in front of her. She was focused, lost in the rhythm of cooking, completely unaware of Colin quietly making his way toward her.

She felt him before she saw him - the heat of his body just inches from hers, his presence sending a familiar anticipation curling in her stomach. Then, his finger brushed her hair aside, exposing the soft skin of her neck.

Before she could react, his lips pressed against her pulse point, warm and teasing. But he didn't stop there. His mouth lingered, and then - he sucked gently on the sensitive spot, his teeth just barely scraping against her skin.

Her body reacted instantly. She let out a breathy moan, her posture straightening as a rush of warmth spread through her. Without even thinking, she pushed back into him, her body melting into his as if it were second nature.

Colin smirked against her skin, his arms wrapping right below her chest, pulling her snug against him. "You love when I do this," he murmured against her neck, his voice dripping with amusement and something deeper - something that sent another shiver through her.

Brylee's grip on the spoon in her hand tightened, her breathing uneven. God, he knew exactly what he was doing. She took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure, but his mouth was still there, his lips still brushing over her skin, and she knew if she let this continue, she'd forget about dinner entirely.

With every ounce of willpower she had, she turned in his arms, facing him, pressing a hand against his chest to put a little distance between them. She looked up at him, eyes dark with something playful, something teasing, but her lips curled into a smirk.

"Just wait until after dinner, Col." She murmured, her voice low but full of promise.

Colin's grin widened, his hands still resting on her waist as he leaned in just enough to brush his lips against hers, not quite a kiss, just enough to make her want more. "Oh, I plan on it," he whispered, his tone laced with mischief. "But I like watching you try to keep it together."
