It was raining today all day! but that's ok,Milo and Lori love rain they would go exploring behind the orphanage in the woods a lot so a few rain drops didn't bother them! One day they went to go back to the woods to explore.they noticed a moving truck next door
"Someones moving into the house next door" Milo and Lori heard the other orphan kids whisper. Lori was putting on her shoes and getting snacks so she couldn't see the trucks she knew her and her brother would be out there in the woods as long as they can be. Last time they ignored curfew the nuns scolded them they would yell *you guys are in the 10th grade when are you gonna listen!?*
Milo and Lori learned their lesson after that so they head out early in the morning to play in the woods as much as they can "sis let's go the rains almost over!" Milo jumps from the steps to the ground he loves jump and climbing trees occasionally swimming whenever it's warm and not raining.
"I'm coming loser I'm getting snacks for us!" Lori shouted back playfully. On the way there they ran into a girl with short brown hair you could kinda tell she was teenager . "hello I'm sabi I'm your new neighbor!" The twins looked at each other and then to the girl "hello I'm Lori this is my brother Milo we live at the orphanage" Lori speaks up pointing to herself then her brother.
The girl smiles "where you guys headed?" Milo notices something fluffy in a box as Lori and sabi continue talking. "what's that?" Milo points to the box "that's a tail it's like an accessory for me" sabi picks it up Milo nods "is it soft?" Milo goes to touch it but Lori grabs his hand. "Milo let's hurry or we won't have enough time to play in the woods!"
They wave good by to sabi and run off into the woods "that lady was interesting!" Lori yell from the top of the tree shes climbed in. Milo is playing in the creek pouncing on crickets and other bugs "she was wasn't she?, that tail was really pretty to!" Lori jumps from the top of the tree to a rock below. "She had a vibe to her..a cool one not bad but it was kinda wild like" Lori says now sitting on a big rock Milo nods "yea I get that she kind of reminds me of you somehow"
they both talk and play for awhile when they heard people talking so they quiet down and look to where the noise is coming from "are there trails this deep into the woods?" Milo whispers "I'm not sure..I didn't see any" Lori replies a voice from behind them startles them "nope just me and my friends exploring and what about you two?" Milo jumps and hisses slightly at the sudden voice Lori looks at Milo and then to the man "sorry we didn't mean anything bad we just never see or hear people this deep into the woods" the man sits down as the rest of the group show up. "Why are y'all out here anyway don't you guys want to be at a mall or park something like that?" A lady with a long black braid and slightly tanned skin asks Milo.
He chuckles "nah we prefer woods and our own bedrooms" Lori smiles "there something freeing about being in the woods" the man and the rest of the group look at each other "my apologies we forgot to introduce ourselves I'm kenzo that's my sister Kenzie that's sabi and Everest" kenzo points to each of them. "Nice to meet you all! But we met sabi earlier didn't we? " Milo and Lori say at the same time making themselves chuckle a little. Milo looks to where Everest is and notices he has a deer skull next to him. "Um can I ask what is that?" Milo points to the skull.
"Your very observant aren't you? this is my skull mask I made it to look like a real deer skull" he puts it on "see?" He knocks on the skull and then takes it off "want to try it on? I promise it won't bite" Milo thinks for a minute "sure why not" he takes it gently
surprised by how light it was and put it on gently. "Whoa this is awsome!" He looks around "it's so light and its really comfy?!" He takes it off and hands it back to Everest "cool isn't it?" Sabi asks she stands up and takes off her bag "I'm gonna go explore I'll be back in a minute" Milo stands up "can I come with?" Sabi shrugs "I don't see a problem with that"
Milo and sabi head down towards the creek and explore Milo pounces on bugs and plays tag with sabi in the grass. "I have a question" sabi smiles as she climbs up a tree "do you always pounce on bugs like that?" Milo nods "it's like a natural thing for me I can't control it sometimes" sabi nods " thats interesting what's some other stuff you do?"
Milo pounces on another bug "sometimes when I get startled or spooked without warning I hiss my sister laughs at it sometimes which I get it's kinda funny hearing someone hiss sometimes I don't even know I did it I just do it" sabi chuckles "you hiss?" Milo nods "you can laugh at me I know it's funny" sabi shakes her head
"nah I'm not going to" Milo climbs up the tree and sits on a branch "sometimes I get a funny feeling on my head like animal ears and it overwhelms me a little cause I don't know what it is" sabi thinks for a minute "do you do anything else?"
Milo nods climbing Branch to branch "well sometimes my sister says I act like a cat! which I don't think I do?" Milo chuckle as he jumps down from the tree. "I'm gonna play in the creek! You coming?" Sabi nods jumping down from the tree and chasing after Milo. After awhile they come back to Lori and the rest of the group Lori was talking and drawing in dirt
"hey Lori I have a question?" Sabi puts her bag down after grabbing something and sits "what's up?" Sabi nudges kenzo "so.....what do you do for fun?" Lori cleans her hands "I collect bones and other stuff like feathers or plants" Everest jumps up and down with excitement "me to!!"
Lori and Everest begin talking on and on about the stuff the found eventually Lori and Milo lead them to a cave they hang out in with Lori's bones and oddity collection and Milos bean bag they have a door like entrance with moss and wood they open it up and flick on the outdoor lights
they set up as indoor lights and walk inside Milo sits on his bean bag snuggle into it and Lori adds more stuff to her collection "come in just shut the door please!" Lori yells from the end of the cave as she flicks on another set of lights
"there's another level it's the bottom tho so be careful it could be wet cuz there is an underwater pond it's really big" sabi Everest kenzo and kenzie walk in and are amazed. "You made this into a home?!" Milo chuckles "we can't live in it cause we'll get in trouble but we hang out here often" Lori climbs up from the underground pond "do you want to stay for a bit?" They look to each other...
