WALL-E and EVE hopped onto a moving cart and hid from everyone's sight. "Hopefully Go-4 didn't catch us," WALL-E sighed, breathless. He looked at EVE, his binoculars covered in towels from the Lido Deck. EVE giggled at the sight. "You're a doofus, you know that?"

The cart then halted to a stop. Both of them poked their heads out of the cart. EVE sees an opening. She flies out of the cart and hovers over. It seems to be some vent. A garbage disposal. Her computer brain reads the directions that lead to the Captain's quarters.

Hours before, when the Captain opened EVE's cavity up, the plant was missing. WALL-E saw that Auto electrocuted her just to take the plant out of her. The Captain was foolish and thought EVE was defective. But when WALL-E accidentally made EVE's mood worse, they actually found that Go-4 was trying to get rid of the plant via escape pod.

WALL-E fell out of the cart as the cart started to move away. He rolled over to EVE and looked up the vent as well. EVE looked over to see WALL-E, and she pushed him away gently. "WALL-E, you need to stay here. I don't want to see you get in trouble."

WALL-E didn't seem to like that idea. His mind started to wander to hurtful and terrible outcomes of what would happen to EVE if he didn't go with her.

"But, what if that one-eyed wheel hurts you? What if the plant goes missing again? What if the Captain doesn't believe you-"

Suddenly, EVE cuts him off with a kiss. A tiny spark passed between them. She pulls back to look at him, resting her forehead against his.

"Listen, nothing is going to happen to me, I promise you. I just don't want you going up there because I'm worried that Auto will hurt you."

"But... what if I never see you again...?"

EVE's heart seemed to do two things. Break, and sink. She remembers replaying those security camera clips in her mind from when EVE shut down after finding the plant, and WALL-E taking care of her and looking out for her. She has been holding her feelings back for a while, thinking they were just a phase, but no. They were real. They were bothering her. She has to tell him.

"WALL-E. Look at me."

She waits until his binoculars meet her screen.

"Ever since I met you, I thought that you were annoying at first, which you kinda were."

"Yeah, I know," WALL-E looked down, embarrassed, "and I'm sorry."

EVE smiles softly and gently grasps his wrist. She continues.

"But, now you opened my eyes after showing me that maybe I shouldn't be so uptight all the time. Maybe I should have fun and relax once in a while. But, most importantly, you showed me what love is supposed to feel like. And maybe, I might be starting to like you."

WALL-E's eyebrows shoot up in surprise. "Wait, really?"

"Of course. You're my best friend, after all," she then smirks, "or maybe more than that."

"How can you be so sure?"

"Only the stars will tell us."

WALL-E then pulls EVE into a hug, nestling his head against her heart. He was crying softly, if he even had tears. EVE hugs back, gently rubbing his back.

"You... So you... You love me?"

"More than anything. More than my own directive."

They both broke the hug and looked at each other. WALL-E took a few deep breaths, though his voice sounded sad.

"Well, get up there. The plant is the only way for us to recolonize Earth."

EVE kissed WALL-E one more time and let go of his wrist. Before she went into the vent, she looked over at WALL-E.

"I love you, WALL-E."

WALL-E looked up at EVE, holding his own hands to soothe himself.

"I... I love you too, Eva."

With that, EVE then went up the vent. WALL-E sadly watches, but he reminds himself that it will all be okay and that as long as EVE loves him, nothing will get in the way of their directive and teamwork.
