One night, Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji, and the juniors secretly follow Lan Xichen to a hidden waterfall-only to find him and Jiang Cheng playfully competing and comfortably talking. To their shock, Jiang Cheng has been secretly sneaking up to feed kitte...
As the night quarantine settled over Gusu, the warm glow of lanterns flickered in Jingshi. Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian, and the juniors sat around the low table, enjoying a peaceful dinner. The air was filled with quiet laughter as they talked about various things—cultivation, music, and the beauty of the Gusu mountains.
The night had stretched past the eleventh hour, but none of them felt particularly tired. Outside, the moon hung high, casting a silver sheen over the quiet landscape. The conversation naturally turned to the beauty of the Cloud Recesses, and the juniors began excitedly discussing their favorite places—the Cold Springs, the bamboo groves, and the pristine training fields.
Wei Wuxian, as animated as ever, leaned forward and grinned. "You know, for all the time I've spent here, I think I've seen most of Gusu. But tell me, Lan Zhan, is there anywhere special we haven't been?"
Lan Wangji, who had been quietly sipping his tea, placed his cup down. "There is a waterfall," he said simply.
"A waterfall?" Wei Wuxian’s eyes lit up. "You never told me about that!"
Lan Jingyi perked up. "There’s a waterfall here? I've never seen one either!"
Lan Wangji nodded. "It is hidden at the top of the mountain. Larger than the Cold Springs. Not many know of it."
"That sounds amazing!" Ouyang Zizhen said excitedly. "Can we go see it?"
Lan Wangji frowned slightly. "It is late. The path is steep and dangerous at night."
"But that makes it more exciting!" Wei Wuxian smirked, nudging him. "Come on, Lan Zhan. You wouldn't have told us if you didn’t want to take us, right?"
Lan Wangji gave him a look, clearly unconvinced.
Wei Wuxian grinned wider. "Fine, fine, how about this? If we get into trouble, I’ll personally make sure to take all the blame. And I’ll even carry you back if you get tired."
Lan Sizhui stifled a laugh, while Lan Jingyi muttered, "Shameless."
But, as always, Wei Wuxian had his way of breaking Lan Wangji’s resolve. With a quiet sigh, Lan Wangji finally gave in.
"We will go," he said, standing up.
"Yes!" The juniors cheered, quickly gathering their cloaks and swords.
And so, under the moonlit sky, the group set off toward the top of the mountain, eager to uncover the hidden waterfall of Gusu.
