Manik: "I missed this... I missed us."
His voice was soft, almost a whisper, as his hand reached out to gently tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. His fingers lingered, brushing against her cheek, sending a shiver down her spine.
Nandini's breath hitched, her heart racing as she looked up into his eyes. She saw the longing, the love, the regret... everything he had been holding back.
Nandini: "Manik..."
Her voice trembled, but she didn't move away. She couldn't. His closeness was intoxicating, pulling her in, melting away all her doubts.
Manik took another step closer, their faces now just inches apart. His eyes flickered to her lips before meeting her gaze again.
Manik: "I LOVE YOU, NANDINI!!"
Nandini's heart fluttered at his words, her resolve weakening. She didn't even realize when the words escaped her lips.
Nandini: "I LOVE YOU TOO, MANIK."
Manik's eyes widened with joy, a smile spreading across his face. It was perfect. This was what he had been craving for so long. Without another word, he pulled her into a tight embrace, his face buried in her neck as he held her close, unwilling to let go.
After a moment, he placed a soft, lingering kiss on her forehead.
They had their dinner, exchanging soft, lingering smiles, unspoken words passing between them. As they finished, Manik whispered a quiet "Good night" and turned to leave for the other room. But just as he took his first step, a delicate yet firm grip closed around his wrist. Nandini's touch was hesitant yet powerful, stopping him in his tracks, sending a surge of emotions rushing through him before he could take another breath.
Nandini: "We... We can sleep in our room, Manik."
Manik looked at her, his eyes searching hers for any hesitation. But all he saw was sincerity. A tender smile appeared on his lips as he nodded.
Nandini went to change while Manik settled on the bed, carefully lying down on the right side of Anvika. Nandini never left her in the cradle alone at night, always keeping her close. As he gazed at his little angel, his heart swelled with love, an overwhelming warmth spreading through him. Watching her tiny chest rise and fall in peaceful slumber, he felt a deep sense of gratitude-this was his world, right here.
Moments later, Nandini returned, her hair cascading over her shoulders as she quietly slipped into bed on the left side of Anvika. They were both facing each other, Anvika nestled safely between them, her tiny fingers curled around the blanket.
Their eyes met, and neither was willing to break the gaze. The air was thick with unspoken words, with emotions they had both buried for so long.
Manik's hand reached out, his fingers gently brushing against Nandini's. She didn't pull away; instead, she intertwined her fingers with his, their hands resting together beside their daughter.
Manik: "I never thought... I'd have this. Us... together like this."
Nandini's eyes softened.
Nandini: "I never thought I'd give you a chance again... but seeing you with Anvika, seeing you change... I couldn't stop myself."
Manik's thumb gently caressed her hand.
Manik: "I'll never let you regret this time. I promise, Nandini."
Nandini's eyes glistened with unshed tears, her heart aching with hope and fear. She wanted to believe him, to trust him again.
Manik shifted closer to Nandini, moving with deliberate care so as not to wake Anvika. Nandini adjusted herself on the bed, silently making space for him beside her. His presence was overpowering, an unspoken tension thick in the air. He was just inches away now, his gaze locked onto hers, his warm breath intertwining with hers, sending a shiver down her spine.
