"makoti" my mother in law shouted as always from the living room. "mma" I responded and she kept quiet like sis speak. I left my pot of stew in the kitchen and went to her and stood in front of her and she looked at me and smiled. "here" she said handing me a gift bag and I took it smiling.
I opened it and it was a beautiful Zulu bead and I just hugged her. "ngiyabonga mma" I said and she just smiled and I entered back into the kitchen and finished cooking. I was making beef stew and rice and for sides I had coslow, chakalaka and beetroot.
Ohh before I continue let me introduce myself. I am Liyana Hope Mabuza (30). I am married to Siphosethu Kelvin Mabuza (32). We have been married for 6 years and have a 4 year old twin children. Our son Langelihle and our daughter Nkanyezi. We are currently visiting his parents for a family meeting that has to take place. Anywayyy......
I dish the food up in big bowels and set the table for everyone. Sipho arrives and hugs me from behind and kisses my neck and my stomach does back flips. I face him and give him a kiss on the lips and smile. "mama unjani" he asks while were still hugging. "ngiyaphila wena unjani baba" I say and he look in my eyes and says "ngiyaphila".
We hear laughter and I look behind me and its Khanyisile my sister in law. She is younger than Sipho as she is 26 and has a son Mbuzo aged 3. She is not married but her boyfriend is treating her well.
"sawbona sisi" she says and I run to hug her since I have not seen her in a while since she stays in Cape Town with her boyfriend and Sipho and I stay in Gauteng so mostly meet here in KZN.
"ohh I missed you " I say while tearing up and we finally lets go and Sipho hugs her. Mbuzo and Derick(boyfriend) walk in and I take Mbuzo from him after greeting and hugging him. We talk for a while and baba (Father in Law) walks in and we all hug him. I get my kids and we sit and start eating.
"so baba when is the meeting happening" Khanyi asks while we are chilling in the living room. "2 days from now so I will tell you all the details"
