"Fuck me you feel so good" he whispers against the skin of my neck. His hands are under my tank top just below my aching breasts.

"Shut up and take your dick out." The demanding edge to my voice isn't because I'm desperate for him, it's because I have shit to do and this needs to hurry up.

I roughly remove his belt and pull his jeans and boxers down to his knees before I push him back on the couch. My phone starts blaring on the side table next to the couch. I reach over and see the caller.

"Mother fucker!" I growl before I get off Jace, or was it John... "What?" I practically yell into the phone.

"I know you're busy Adriana but I need you to head to an incident. It's happening right now and you're not far." Sabrina's cool voice is unaffected by my attitude.

Jimmy starts to reach for my hips to bring me back over to his lap. I smack his hand away.

"This can't wait? I was just about to fix my attitude problem." I sigh.

"It cannot. They have civilians trapped and you need to get them out." The image of Sabrina pinching the bridge of her nose fills my mind. "I'll text coordinates. Hurry up."

With that she hangs up on me. Shoving my phone in the pocket of my leather crop jacket, I right my undies and skirt.

"You can't be serious", Jake wines. He looks ridiculous with his pants down around his ankles, he's dick slowly deflating.

"Yep. That was almost fun. Bye" I head to the door, my knee high chunky boots are sticky on his linoleum floor. I cringe to think of what could be on there.

I close his front door and catch a final glimpse of him standing here with his mouth hanging open like a fish. The sight helps take the edge off my irritation, we both won't be satisfied and it makes me feel better. He was kinda cute and the ride looked like it might have decent. It's been a minute since I've gotten any and it's making me punchy. Ugh I need to deal with my lady blue balls later.

Taking the stairs two at a time I throw my auburn hair into a pony tail and check my phone. Sabrina is sending me to the subway station a block away. How do these things always end up happening so close to where I am? The last 4 years, they seem to be attracted where ever I'm at.

"Ok, fighting in a mini skirt is not my idea of a good time but a girl's gotta do what she's gotta do."

Running, I get to the subway and down to the platform. I stop to listen for any noises. I hear a low guttural growl and a woman screams. I keep one thing with me at all times besides my phone and that's Finis. I click the button on the hilt and my sword appears, 3 feet in length with a curve towards the end like a scythe. It shimmers gold slightly, a manifestation of my power.

I slow my breathing and look around the corner at the base of the stairs. The subway train is stopped and the area around the door closest to me looks like it was ripped open. Similar to a tin can, the metal is peeled back and out of the way. Shit. I see tips of wings sticking out of the opening. It's a fucking Harpyiai.

Getting closer, I duck below the window near the door and carefully take a peek. It's back is to me. This thing is focused on a man by the door connecting the train cars while everyone else is huddled at the opposite end of the train. I need to get around the wings to remove its head so it doesn't respawn. These creatures have the upper body of a woman and the lower body of an eagle with sharp talons. The wings protrude from the shoulders since they have arms. Uglier than sin, they are things of nightmares. Able to rip a human to shreds to feast on their hearts in very little time.

Looking around me, I need to get it off the train with a diversion. There are some pieces of metal laying on the ground. Picking one up, I fling it like a frisbee in front of me. That does it, I see her head turn towards the noise and she beings to take a step out. I spin Finis in my hands and get to a crouched position, ready to throw all my weight into my swing. Just another step or two, I have the element of surprise.

Just then the man that the Harpyiai had cornered bursts from the doorway and jumps on her back. Fuck! Don't play hero you idiot. Now I have to make sure I don't hit him when I take her head off.

The surprise causes the beast to swing frantically to the left and she sees me. I stand fully, no reason to try to be quiet and hide now. Her eyes connect with mine and her mouth opens. It's full of sharp fangs, black with silvery saliva dripping from them.

"Adriana, at last." It speaks in Greek.

"Do I know you creepy?" I retort in the same language. These things never know English.

"Unlikely, but I'm sure you've meet my creator. Zeus says hello." She turns to face me fully, ignoring the man on her back. She's naked from the waste up, her breasts sagging heavily, gore splashed across them. Black tipped fingers reach for me as she takes a step forward.

Swinging Finis I remove the offending hand and she screams in pain. Just then I look at the man and he's wearing a mask with a baseball cap brought down low on his face. I see a long knife in his hand and he stabs her in the back.

"Get off her, that won't do shit. You're in my way!" I yell.

"I've got this little girl." Removing the knife he goes to stab again and speaking to me distracts him enough that she swings him off of her.

Lunging I bring my sword up and cleave into her neck. Finis makes it half way before I have to pull it out and swing again. There's a gurgling sound as I've cut her windpipe. The body is still coming at me, even as she's barely got her head attached. I see the man get up behind her and she kicks out. He takes the hit and one of her talons rips his shirt on his stomach. I've got to put her down before she kills him.

I feel my power release and it radiates up my arms and lights Finis on fire. Pushing off the ground with all my strength, I leap at her body and finish separating her head, the body catching fire from my sword. The head rolls away as I land in a crouch. Blowing loose hair out of my face, I sheathe Finis and check on the idiot on the floor.

"You could have gotten killed you moron!" Kneeling down I scold him.

Pushing my hands away as I reach for his torn shirt, he scrambles to get up. Rolling my eyes, of course he's afraid of me. Damn civilians.

"I'm fine. Superficial cut." he grinds out inspecting the damage on himself.

"Sure, whatever." I go back to the train to check on the other passengers. They're all fine but shaken up. I can hear sirens in the distance, the authorities will be here to help them in a minute and I can't be. I nod to them and turn around to find this masked dude picking up the Harpyiai's head.

"Leave that be. I'll dispose of it." Feeling the flame start to gather in my hand, I need to make sure no one sees evidence.

He pulls his knife out again, "I think not girlie. This is mine".

"Don't test me human." I bring my hand up, the fireball in full form now so he can see I'm not playing.

"This is the property of the Consortium. I should take you in too." He chuckles.

Launching the crackling fireball his direction, he jumps to the right and takes off. I run after him and he jumps from the platform to the tracks. The sirens are closer now, FUCK, I have to go. It wasn't my intention to hit him, I have no idea who he is and I don't want the blood of a civilian on my hands.

Shaking my head I head back up the stairs, the only evidence from the Harpyiai is a bit of ash and a charred streak. Perfect. Once I hit street level, I put my hands in my pockets, sliding Finis back into the concealed pocket in my jacket. I'll have to wait a few blocks before I call a cab to get home and call Sabrina to debrief her. Calmly I head the opposite direction from the cop cars that have now begun to pile up in front of the station entrance.

Who the hell are the Consortium and why did they want the Harpyiai head?
