Four was announcing the contest and a horde of zomebies chased everyone into the forest

...

The campfire was colder than usual, or at least that's how it felt to Leafy. Bubble sat on the other side of the bonfire; a partnership hastily arranged before the final challenge began. She wouldn't meet Leafy's eyes, her usual nervousness replaced with distance. Leafy could feel the stares of zombies in the forest, the wind of whispers curling through the air like smoke, or maybe that was just her anxiety.

When the returned, Leafy didn't bother packing the fireplace neatly or extend a helping hand this time. She shoved her things into her bag, her chest tight with anger. She didn't even pause when she spotted Firey lingering by their bags near their camp, his arm leaning casually in the bag like he didn't have a care in the world.

Firey looked up, his usual confidence appearing for a brief moment before it faltered at the sight of Leafy's expression. He barely had time to react before Leafy stormed up to him, her eyes blazing.

Leafy managed to assemble a decent camp. and Bubble was asleep, still recovering from being bitten. Leafy helped to patch up Bubble's infection. by dismembering the infected limb and thoroughly cleaning and bandaging it up.

But Firey...

"You-" Leafy spat, her voice low and dangerous. But Firey interjected "What the hell did you do to Bubble?"

"You're literally stealing from me. AND Bubble." Leafy confronted, it was back and forth.

"You're just pretending to people think you're nice? See! You're actually really mean- Well, sometimes anyway." Firey criticized/ whiny ass hoe complaining

"..."

Firey raised his hands in defense, though his casual demeanor didn't last long under Leafy's glare. "Hey, calm down. I just told you the truth."

"The truth?" Leafy snapped, her voice cracking. "You mean you went behind my back and told her something that wasn't your business to share?!"

"Wasn't my business?" Firey shot back, straightening up. "She deserves to know what kind of person she's trusting!"

Leafy's hands clenched into fists at her sides, her jaw tightening. "You had no right. None. Do you even know what you've done?"

Firey scoffed, though there was a flicker of guilt in his eyes. "Look, maybe I went too far, but I was just trying to-"

"To what?" Leafy interrupted, stepping closer. Her voice dropped to a harsh whisper. "To ruin the only friendship I had left? To humiliate me in front of everyone?"

Firey didn't answer immediately, his gaze flickering away for a split second...

___

Firey, now unarmed, Leafy escorting him out of the area. Leafy had her knife just around his back.

The moment he could no longer see the campfire's glow. Just walking into the darkness of the forest.

They had been walking so far for more time than it was necessary, the anxiety is beginning to creep him out. He called out her name, "um. Leafy..?"

"..."

"Hello? Earth to Leafy?"

"..."

"You have no idea where we're going, do you?"

...That was all it took for Leafy to snap.

Without thinking, Leafy shoved a half-eaten yoyleberry into Firey's throat. And shoved Firey hard against the tree, the half-metallic clang echoing against the tree bark. Firey yelped, kicking her instinctively to push Leafy back, but Leafy didn't relent.

"You don't get to play hero, Firey," Leafy spited, her voice shaking with fury. "Not after everything you've done."

"Leafy, just stop. You're making a scene." Firey hissed, glancing around.

"I don't care," Leafy shot back, shoving him again. "You took everything from me, and now you want to act like you're the good guy?"

"Listen, I'm sorry!" Firey finally pushed back. "I screwed up, okay? But you're not blameless here! You think Bubble, Eggy-or anyone-deserves to be dragged into your mess?!"

His hand clutching hers that was holding the knife. Twisting her wrist enough for it to let go. He holds onto the knife tighter.

And before he could do anything with it, Leafy's foot was caught on a rock beneath her.

She stumbled, losing balance, arms braced closed arms inward. before she was caught by the waist. Firey had reached out and saved her before she could've... tripped.

Firey held the knife in the air, ready to strike. It would've been so easy, bu he hesitated. Hey guys, so this is actually really ironic!

Leafy froze, her breath died from short, angry bursts. Her fists remained clenched, but the weight of Firey's words hit her like a gut punch. It could've been a sweet moment...

The moonlight filtered through the trees, creating a spotlight. The light passing through the trees illuminated into a spotlight onto them only, making it look like a performance under a stage light.

For a moment, neither of them moved, the spotlight eerily quiet except for the faint hum of tree leaves swishing. And then. A knee to the groin. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME YOU JERK!"

Firey fell on his knees. Leafy took the knife and hit him at the back of the head with the stub of the knife. Knocking him unconscious with a sickening thud.

Leafy finally stepped back, her hands trembling. She couldn't look at Firey anymore.

"Stay out of my life," Leafy muttered.

____

...

Firey woke up, leaning against the tree. he felt a sudden stinging of cold air on his arm.

Leafy had carefully carved a thin piece layer of Firey's skin on the surface of his arm. Skillfully with her knife. The carving on his arm spelled a sentence, 'Underwear Boy'

Thin layer of the skin's surface. Fragile enough that it might bleed if not careful.

_____

The propellers of the basket, made it hover above the forest, observing the contestants from above. X and Four within the basket, looking down as spectators of the challenge.

Four was impatient, fidgeting, "it's about time for the next phase of the challenge. Don't you think so, X?"

The ground around them started to rip itself apart, starting with small cracks and tearing themselves apart into bigger parts. The entrance of a portal in the distance started to get more and more visible for the contestants. The white portal reaching up to the height of 50 feet in the air.

Zombies were spawning by the edges of the forest. The survivors were forced to enter the portal.

On the other side(oftheportal), the field stretched with purple grass. Yoyleland. And YoyleCity will be their new Basecamp.
