Among the many drizzle-ridden days of Liberio, this one would prove to alter the course of Alisa's life forever. Unbeknownst to her, of course.

It started much as any other, with a rude awakening by the typical chorus of crows. After that, a hastily eaten breakfast disgracefully lacking in caffeine consumption, followed by the most slap-dash dressing known to any Marleyan.

Alisa might've once cared for the opinion of others on her dress and grooming, but after spending more hours of the night awake reading than asleep, she simply couldn't bring herself to agonize over it. Beyond that, if she hickered and dickered much longer, she'd be severely late for her shift at the Café. So she ran her fingers through her hair to gently tie it up into a loose bun, straightened her dress, and set off down the bustling streets.

After a VERY brisk walk (anything faster than that would be unladylike, and Alisa could only flaunt so many societal expectations before lunch), she arrived at the Café.

Café, of course, being a rather generous term. Upon actually seeing it, one might've preferred a moniker more along the lines of a Nook or Cubby of sorts; Unfortunately, Alisa was but a humble barista and not given the honor of coining labels.

As it was only approximately 8:30 in the morning (it's challenging to properly track the passing time when one is overly bedraggled and lacking in compensatory caffeine), the demand for elaborate coffee-based beverages was at its climax. Every face blurred together into a shoddy impressionist painting seen only by Alisa. Every face.
For quite some time.
That is, until the man who would change her life strolled in, with the most utterly impassive expression on his face.

He couldn't have had more than perhaps 2 or 3 inches on her, but his gait was such that one might've taken him for a man of a far more imposing stature. This did nothing to detract from the sharp beauty of his features. With steely grey eyes that could pierce a heart as easily as any stone, and a silky black undercut that sublimely framed the most curtly handsome face ever seen by one such as Alisa, it was no surprise she was drawn out of her reverie.

Before she had even realized it, she was staring at him. Drinking him in, from head to toe. Alisa had seen handsome men, it wasn't as though she NEVER got out, but there was something completely enthralling about this man from the very first moment his curtained expression manifested itself in her little coffee cubby.

After a few blissful moments of engrossment, he abruptly turned his eyes on her, completely shattering any sense of composure that had yet remained. Immediately, she averted her eyes and refocused on the task at hand of cleaning the overused equipment, though that did nothing to prevent a boiling-hot blush from creeping up her face.

Oh gosh, you did it again Alisa. You simply can't stare down every handsome stranger that ambles in on happenstance. What if they found it unsettling and chose to take their business elsewhere? Mr. Lochs wouldn't simply have your head, he'd no longer allow you to indulge in novels on your lunch break!

After an eternity, and perhaps half another again, she heard the sound of a throat clearing alarmingly close. With a deep swallow, she mustered herself up to looking whomever it might be in the face, and the silver orbs that peered back at her looked, surprisingly, not the least bit offended or disturbed. Perhaps, if she wasn't idealizing the situation, they may have even looked.... Amused?

"Miss? Are you quite alright?"

No. No I'm not. Because it's not enough for you to simply LOOK enchanting, you have the most caramel-smooth deep voice I've ever heard, and I suspect that it's more than sufficient to undo any modicum of sense I have at this point.
