Y/n Liang sat down beside her all-too-familiar frenemies. She pulled out her cute teddy
bear pencil case, filled with candy-scented pens.

The soft sweetness of her cotton-candy perfume filled Zack's nose as he stirred from his
half-asleep state. He turned around to see the bubbly girl applying her lipstick.

Y/n quietly hummed the tune that had been stuck in her head. "Looking at me, looking at
you~ la la la... espresso..." she sang under her breath, finishing her makeup.

"Please, it's nine in the morning. Can you not?" Zack groaned. "No~ It's like your morning
alarm! Time to wake up and study~" she chirped, happily tucking her makeup away.

"All that makeup and you still end up looking like James Charles," Zack muttered. "Says the
one with Elvis hair," she shot back. "Your IQ's lower than the SPF on your sunscreen."
"Definitely higher than your chances with Mira," Y/n smirked. "Oh wait— it's been since
childhood, and you're still scoring zero."

Before Zack could respond, the teacher entered the room with a new student trailing behind
him.

Y/n raised her eyebrows at the pretty boy standing in front of the class.

*Who transfers
schools this late in the semester—and to J High of all places?* she wondered.

As soon as he introduced himself, half the girls in the room looked ready to pounce. Y/n
turned to Zack, who was glaring at the new boy—Daniel. The reason was obvious: Mira,
the girl Zack liked, was blushing while staring at Daniel.
Not that Y/n could blame her. Daniel was handsome. But Y/n had her own standards when
it came to men:

1. Good-looking enough
2. Rich
3. Doesn't fight
4. Has good hygiene
5. Doesn't smoke ordrink
6. Gives her gifts after arguments
7. Loves animals
8. Loves eating
9. Can cook for her anytime
10. Listens to her like a loyal servant

Zack always said her list was ridiculous—that she'd never find a guy like that.

They'd known each other since middle school—friends and enemies all at once. Their
mothers had been best friends and even planned their pregnancies together, so Y/n and
Zack were practically destined to bicker.

But despite being the two being childhood friends, Y/n never have talked or played with Mira. Two of them didn't really knew each other.
