Nandini straightened up, her smile widening at the affectionate correction.

Nandini: "Okay… Mom!" (She chuckled lightly.)
"You woke up so early!"

Neyonika: "So did you!" (She raised an eyebrow playfully.)

Nandini: "Ah, yes… actually, it takes time for me to settle and sleep in a new place."

Neyonika’s expression softened, her maternal instincts kicking in.

Neyonika: "I can understand, beta. But soon, this will no longer feel like a new place. It’ll become your own house, your own home. Right?"

Nandini’s heart warmed at Neyonika’s kind words.

Nandini: "Right, Mom! My home." (Her voice carried a quiet determination.)

With a renewed sense of belonging, Nandini stepped forward to help Neyonika in the kitchen, ready to embrace her new life, one small step at a time.

Manik stirred awake, his eyes squinting in the soft morning light filtering through the curtains. As he turned over, his gaze instinctively searched the bed, only to find it empty. He sat up, running a hand through his messy hair, wondering where Nandini could be.

He got up and stepped out of the bedroom. Walking down the hallway, he paused when he heard the soft sound of voices coming from the kitchen. He peeked inside and found Nandini helping Neyonika with breakfast.

For a moment, he just stood there, watching them. A small smile tugged at his lips as he muttered under his breath, "My ladies." But as soon as the words left his mouth, he froze.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, he turned back toward the bedroom to get ready for the day.

A little while later, he came downstairs dressed in crisp office attire, his tie perfectly knotted, and his usual air of confidence restored. As he approached the dining area, Neyonika glanced at him.

Neyonika: "If I’m not mistaken, you took a month off for your wedding, didn’t you?"

Manik, adjusting his cuffs, replied flatly.

Manik: "There’s no reason to stay at home anymore."

The words came out sharper than intended, and Neyonika’s expression shifted immediately.

Neyonika: "Manik! Stop it." (Her tone was firm.)

Nandini, who was just entering the dining area with a bowl in her hands, overheard the conversation. The lightness she had been feeling moments ago disappeared, replaced by a sting of hurt. She knew Manik didn’t mean it maliciously, but the words still cut deep.

Manik, noticing her reaction, realized his mistake instantly. His mother’s reprimand and Nandini’s silence made his guilt deepen. Scrambling to cover up, he spoke again, his tone a little too forced.
