There I was, in the back seat of the car, on our way to who-knows-where. The scenary buzzed past us, but it was nothing special to me, just the typical trees, grass, mountains, and the occasional cows or sheep in the fields.

I looked at my parents, who both had massive grins on their faces, especially my dad who was driving, while my mom was on her phone. They have yet to tell me where we were going, let alone why I had to pack up all my stuff.

So I decided to finally find out. "So, where are we going?" I asked.

My mom turned back to face me. "Well Lukas, your dad got a new job last week."

"One that pays far more better than my old job." My dad added as he looked at me in the rear view mirror.

My mom continued. "It's in London, a small town called Camden Town." She then presented me her phone, which had pictures of what I assumed was Camden Town. "I've just been looking at some pictures of the place, and I must say, it looks pretty promising."

She gave me the phone so I could take a closer look, what I saw wasn't anything extraordinary, it was just buildings lined up against each other, a vibrant looking park, a small canal, and much more things you'd expect a town in London to have.

"Just you wait, Lukas." My dad said as I gave my mom's phone back to her. "Camden Town might have a lot more to offer than it looks."

"We'll see." I replied, still feeling a bit unconvinced that this place was anything special.

There was a brief moment of silence between us, until I eventually broke the silence as I let out a heavy sigh.

"It's just that..." I began. "...I don't wanna move and leave all my friends behind."

My mom looked at me sympathetically as she reached over to stroke my hair. "Oh, I know, sweetie, but your dad's just doing what's best for us."

"What? Leaving behind the life we had for, what, five years or so? I had friends back home, I had a life, and now, we're starting all over again. It just feels... wrong." I said, before sighing again, realizing that I was getting angry.

"It's okay, Lukas." My mom assured me. "I know it may seem scary moving to a new place, but just give it a chance, you might make some new friends."

I looked at my mom, she always had a way of cheering me up and encouraging me to try new things, and honestly, she's never steered me wrong before.

"Okay mom, I guess I'll give it a shot." I replied.

"That's my boy." My dad chuckled.

After what felt like an eternity, which was probably just five minutes. I saw a big sign near the road reading "Welcome to Camden Town" and as the car drove past it, I let out another heavy sigh.

"And so, my new life begins." I thought to myself.

I was still feeling pretty mixed about this whole situation, but there was nothing I could do about it, my parents had made up their mind and I had to go along with it. Besides, I told my mom I would at least give it a chance, so I guess my hand has been forced.

As we drove through Camden Town, I looked out the window, the scenary was exactly like I had seen in those pictures. Tall buildings lined up, people walking or biking around, there was even the park that we passed, which was the same park from the picture. As much as I was already missing my old home, I had to admit this place did look rather nice.

After a good few minutes, we drove up to what I assumed was going to be our new house, and it looked like the buildings around it. I noticed that there was already a moving truck parked nearby, as if the road didn't look crowded enough with all the other parked cars.  I also saw people bringing in box after box from the truck to the house over and over again.
