Emery

No friends. No real family. Too cocky, too arrogant, are the lies people tell about me. I have nobody. I've been given up, thrown out, taken in and given back.

I live in Ohio although I know I'm not really from here, I'm 15, and my name's Emery. I have blonde hair with a little bit of brown in it due to dyeing it blonde, I have silver eyes like the light of the moon reflecting on the still water.

   I tend to be sarcastic and feisty, that may be the reason I tend to get beat up by the larger kids here. I know I can easily defeat them, I just don't see the purpose so I ignore them.

I have this black leather jacket, with red embroidered inside of it and I never take it off. It was my mom's being the only thing I have of her and it saves me from...it. I'm wearing my jacket, black converses, a white shirt and black shorts.

"Emery no one will read to me, will you?" I smile down to the youngest girl in the orphanage, Julia. She looks up holding a book in her small arms giving me puppy dog eyes. "Yeah, come on into bed." I say standing up from the window grabbing the book and walking to her bed. I tuck her in, sit at the end of the bed and open the book.

"There once was a girl called Wendy Darling, who lived with her parents and two brothers..."

I got to the last page and looked up to see everyone asleep, but I continue anyway walking back to the window tying my jacked around my waist before sitting on the window seal.

"And at that Peter had left Wendy with a kiss, leaving her to grow up, for he did not want to grow up. Because all boys grow up, but one. Then again to see Peter all she had to do was say 'I believe'"

I sighed closing the book staring at the pool of dark colors we call the sky mumbling the two words "I believe" before falling asleep.
